Some opinions regards recently many CN players got their account deleted

Firstly, I am a Chinese who live and study in Canada, I play this game for almost three years, and provides Square Enix with my real name and address. I always stand as a Normal person in this community and never speak my mother’s tone in public Discord or public in-game instance or Party finder which I knew could interrupt others.

For those of you who don’t know what is happening, there is a link, however, I disagree with many of the opinions:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/rynpde/after_taking_their_money_for_years_with_no/

There is some fact I admitted and the above post disagrees:

  1. large amount foreign players are causing server congests, the chaotic hunt train issue is mostly due to this issue, people can’t get rewards so some are forced to start their own train(they act badly because they won’t able to farm materias anyway, it’s not deal with Chinese bad manner, any people could be acting badly in this situation).

  2. JP servers are designed for people living in Japan. CN servers are designed for the people living in China severs resources are limited. so it’s justified to keep the number of foreign players in a data center at a low rate.

  3. based on 2#, the Chinese version is 3 months later than the global version won’t be the excuse for CN players to use too many server resources and media resources like PF which are originally designed for people who live in Japan (include CN players actually live in Japan, they should be able to play JP datacenter). it’s SE’s falls or some political issues causing this to happen. CN players should try to let Yoshi hear their demand for syncing the version. I know WOW updates CN and other regions at the same time. so this is really possible.

  4. it is true some CN players post Chinese PF and chat in Chinese everywhere in public. give
them some banning is okay. the environment or the community is for the Japanese. keep
posting in language that everyone does not understand in a very large amount is very
rude. if you ever hang out or go to a party event with people from different regions you
will understand, people intensively speaking the language that you do not know very
loudly let you hear but don’t let you understand. it is basically unpolite.

and Now I will be talking about why I think Square Enix is still a bitch in this case.

  1. They do not confirm your information is real and accurate when you register and buy the game, after many years of playing you put more money and loves into your character. they just deleted it. not giving you a chance to appeal with another address and name. kinda rude.
  2. if your region is not supported by Square Enix, you should not able to purchase it or at least refund you after deleting your account. this is even ridiculous when some southeast-Asia be told to fill a Japanese address by SE stuff and their account got deleted because they not living in Japan(like Bro WTF??? they told you to do it in an illegal way and took your money, then stop providing service to you because it is illegal??? it is a scam I am sure). this could be proved by the following video. and I heard some of my Southeast-Asia friends are in this situation.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei8q3mgwpBU

  1. in the above Reddit post there is a reply about a CN player who uses a real name and address but still gets deleted. and what he was experiencing was putting on an “HXD only”(good bro only) on party finder. But l believe there is no terms state that you should not speak other languages. I know seeing many foreign posts would be annoying but is that a justified excuse for deleting your account??? people using third-party tools and attacking other people or even RMT only got a few days of banning. while speaking a foreign language gets your account deleted. GOOD JOB Square Enix. We need an explanation on this if it is TRUE.

Conclusively, I know there is a shortage causing huge issues on server congests. Square Enix is even stopped selling the game. they probably want to remove some of the players who are not legal. but they are really bitches, taking money from CN and SE-Asia players when Square Enix has sufficient server resources, and just kick them out now. Imagine Yoshi said that “characters are players’ unique treasure, we can not throw it away easily”. LOL, it is what exactly they are doing. players’ memories are pure merchandise to them, throw them when it is preventing greater profit.

Yeah, with no warning, they not banning you if you violate a term of service, so it reminds you do not do this next time. they just wanna kick players as soon as possible and give it a seemingly well-formed reason. And what comes next? Will they kick people who use ACT if there are more players so ACT players do not matter? and the Whole community would say"they are using third-party tools so it is justified". Because everyone is not perfect and 100% satisfied TOS( I know some of you are using your parent’s address and name, you probably gotta be deleted at certain times in the future too because it is not your own name. Or if they say giving your friends some gils for no reason are RMT, Who knows?).

I am not messing up with the true violating of TOS and some forgivable action. this is exactly what I am suggesting: the punishment and the illegal action are not matching, they don’t care what is a fair punishment, they just use it as an excuse, they just want to kick CN players. there always group players could be sacrificed. Although the shortage of servers won’t last forever, the logic is horrible. There always be the next group for square Enix who could be killed for good.

Another post about bans, another post ignoring Square Enix’s legal obligations to respect the domestic laws in which they operate.

There is a reason why mainlanders are looked upon with such notoriety, even by their fellow Chinese diaspora. There’s a saying of 入乡随俗,but most of time these players act like the typical uncouth mainland 大妈团. They are not only rude, they treat the place like their own yard with no care for the others.

Remember those stereotypes of mainlanders shitting anywhere they see fit? That’s how the Mana DC ppl sees all these CN players.

If you were actually a frequent flier in this community, you might realise how hilariously bad your examples are. About 99% of the community here is on board with “If you talk about ACT/parsing in-game, then you deserve the smackdown you get if you’re reported for being an idiot who’s publicly and loudly violating the ToS.”

Then again, this is basically a c+p and your account name is ‘useful ad’, so, I guess we’re getting botted tonight!

Is there a botnet crawling out of the woodwork to post these all of a sudden? It seems like every six hours there’s a post that reads almost identically about how it’s “not fair” that the company is upholding the TOS.

They violated agreements and violated rules set in place by their own government. If they want to complain, that’s who they should be complaining about.

I have much sympathy for what is happening to the Chinese community on Mana, but now you’re running up against cultural conflicts with English speakers because of the way you are communicating and the choice of arguments you are pushing.

To the Chinese players, stop acting so much like you’re a brigading army and stop it with the wall of text. Arguments like being owed a refund for a ToS violation is particularly bad. To the North American and European players, recognise the human feelings coming from the Chinese players even if they’re not always going about things the right way. Some have had their accounts there for a long time and have lost everything.

Even though misrepresenting where you live is a ToS breach, the reasons for being reported, caught and targeted are odious xenophobic players that couldn’t possibly know if they are inside China or not, but simply on the language used and it is not a ToS violation in itself to speak or be Chinese. If SquareEnix wants to act in a clean way it needs to separate itself from these reporters and act only on an independent process or else it is justifying and enabling them. Acting on the will of xenophobes will merely empower them meaning you have a bigger problem in the community later, you cannot suspend accounts on their actions, they taste success and you merely create an anti-Chinese mob. It would be disproportionate to make comparisons about how badly thought out checks against undocumented workers in the US can be used to empower racists and harass whole communities but there are similarities.

It also needs to explain how Chinese speakers actually living in Japan can get their account back.

I don’t know bro this issue was created by the players that can’t wait until their server is ready. This is a game that’s not going anywhere in the foreseeable future, so you really think there’s the need to rush in other server and cause trouble? Or maybe you rather let SE do nothing and have CN govt ban the game altogether thus denying the game from an even bigger portion of the playerbase? I had to wait years to be able to play this game because I simply couldn’t afford the means to play and my life was shit for a long time, can’t other players wait too?

Weird, upvoting adds 1 to the count, downvoting doesn’t subtract 1. Very suspicious.

With people being banned for using ACT, they are banned because they use it to harass people and openly admit that they are using ACT. SE doesn’t care if you use ACT or not, as long as you don’t disturb others, so they give a short ban to tell some users to stop being a jerk.

The mainland Chinese players have had a negative impact on the environment, and most of them deserve their ban. As an English player on the JP server, I wouldn’t care if they came into the JP servers as long as they didn’t screw things over. But every time I open up the party finder, I find HXD only parties everywhere, and huddle up to form this group of Chinese only players. I don’t speak Japanese, but I never form or see parties forming with English only. JP players are not xenophobic, as they do treat people speaking other languages kindly, they allow everyone to join and play as long as you are not being an asshole. The mainland Chinese players are fine if they just blend in and just stick to a Japanese or English (or German or French) greeting and thank you at the beginning and the end. However a lot of them are being assholes, blatantly excluding other players, not communicating and speaking Chinese in the chat when they aren’t supposed to even be here. These circles of players are toxic to the FF14 community. Most of these banned HXDs are on many people’s blacklists (some on mine as well), so let this reflect the behavior of some of these HXDs. This HXD situation has led many parties on the party finder to have JP only. Me and other non-Japanese speakers have felt excluded due to this. However most times I send them a message and they would let me in on the fun (example of them being not xenophobic). From what I’ve seen and felt, this HXD situation is negatively impacting the community.

I find it ironic that the HXDs (good bros) are not being good bros to people other than the other HXDs. Nobody is going to care what you did unless you garner attention. Square Enix is completely in the right to ban mainland Chinese players. Even if they are being a bitch, that doesn’t mean they should not have done it. The incessant whining won’t win their accounts back. I bet if the mainland Chinese players never started HXD only, no accounts would have been banned and this whole “controversy” would never have existed.

just read it through. I don’t get banned and don’t need sympathy, but SE is scamming some other regions’ like southeast-Asian people’s money and time.

Square Enix basically does not punish and even suggests people to violating the TOS when they are able to make money for it. when there is an issue, they say it is illegal.

Yup it’s worst when non Mainlanders get personally offended knowing the truth. This behavior is what is causing the controversy if they were courteous nobody would even care but the most “hxd only” players actually are disruptive and exclusive. I can’t really complain anymore since the situation is under control now.

Yes, and CN player never says they are using illegal address in-game, do they? Let’s say a person keeps using act privately for years and I believe most people is doing this. And boom your account disappears without any notice , warning evening banning. Won’t you think it is sad?

There is a forum for XIV players in China, called NGA. AFAIK, people on that forum have been planning to post threads like this on Reddit. There are people who are in charge of writing and they are recruiting translators. They hand out templates of what to write and encourage people to spam XIV twitter accounts.

I know this cuz I’m part Chinese and I visit that website.

In fact, I totally support to punish those CN players and suggest them to play Chinese version. But deleting account without any refund or notice is really overacting. For those already play In JP for multiple years they derseved to keep their characters data and maybe being transferred to CN version in the future.

There is no scam. Pretending like it’s possible for them to completely prevent you from bypassing the systems is silly, but going further to say they’re fucked up for not is just placing blame in the wrong spot. That’s not an opinion, it is a fact. If you want to place blame here, place it on the government requirements that force them to have special servers and special patches to fit perfectly with Chinese expectations. They already are bending over backwards to even let people play there. People being impatient and angry and cheating the system getting mad they’re allowed to cheat part of it is just dumb and the exact same excuse that always comes up in these situations.

If you choose to lie when you purchase, you are choosing to risk being caught later. You cannot blame that on anyone but the person who lied. Period.
