Brave with tor vs Tor

Guys im so confused what is difference between two.
I read explanation on brave but still confused and tbh nonsense they say with brave with tor window we hide u from ISP. don’t we all can do that with a vpn on all browsers.

Then what is the real diffrence?

Also for both brave with tor and tor itself i need separate vpn to use?

And lastly if i go to onion website with brave with tor and tor browser itself what are diffrence?

Please someone explain this for me im badly stuck bat this topic and i need to know.

Use the tor browser. The brave browser has leaked DNS requests in the past

And no, you don’t need a VPN

hello. Tor and VPN differences:

VPNs will route all your traffic (previously encrypted) through one of the servers in their network. The server will tell the world that your IP address is its own or one assigned by the network.

The Tor browser is a network that relays web traffic through several nodes in a system maintained by volunteers. While it’s exceedingly slow, Tor connections and originating IP addresses are humanly impossible to trace back to their starting point.

In terms of safety, Tor is much safer than a VPN but has a lower speed. It is also not necessary to use a VPN at the same time as connecting to Tor and only creates an extra layer of safety (which is not necessary)

My suggestion to you is to use Brave for normal browsing because it has a higher speed (it’s also better to enable a VPN when using Brave) and if you want to sign in to onion sites, be sure to use Tor Browser

I’m sorry, my explanations are long. I hope it’s helpful.

Use Tails or Whonix!

Guys so why not use a vpn while on tor? It’s really safer not to use one on tor ??

Brave is only for brave mother fuckers. If you can handle it then go with it. Now if you’re a bitch and wittle boo boo is too scared, then you can just use regular Tor browser aka. Bitch Tor.

Yea why not brave not enough use chrome or edge or bing or calculator tor will work on anything  u are genz didn’t u

Disclaimer (Do not try that it will be chaotic to use any other methods to browse tor then the official way to use tor and developer recommend to use tor browser)

(And using vpn with tor are u high’ or something :face_with_raised_eyebrow: tell me do u use 2 vpn at same time :joy: its useless it will slow your internet down nothing else and about tor So its BIG NO DON’T DO THAT ! )

How about I use short wave radio from a mountain cave? . :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: /jk

The 2 browsers can’t really be compared, However to stay off the radar you can use Tor, and for privacy while doing normal browsing you can use Brave. you can also check this source

So the main difference is sending request through brave with tor is not encrypted while tor browser is rright?

And why some saying when using tor browser use vpn also?

Thanks bro appreciate it.
Yes to some extent i understood what u said…
But what my question was is not tor vs vpn.
It was brave tor window tab vs tor browser itself.

It was explained on brave website but was not enough.
My main issue is
1.can we use brave with tor feature for dark web searching(onion links) and need vpn and also is safe?
2.Then def Tor browser itself was and is the standard way to go to darkweb so as u said no need to vpn here.

So take 1 and 2 into consideration and please tell me what is difference between Brave tor window tap vs tor browser itself?

This is the closest i can explain what is my issue hope u get my point and solve me my problem.

I found this very helpful, thanks

Well my q as I posted is what is difference between brave with tor and tor itself?!

People generally do not recommend a VPN with Tor because it can de-anonymize users (by exposing your entry node to your VPN provider) and because it can add even more delay to your connection.

Safer to not use one? It largely depends on your threat model. If you’re being targeted by large, powerful organizations (eg the government), a VPN can be bad because you are placing your trust in a centralized authority which may be forced to share your information to de-anonymize you.

For users with less severe models, a VPN can be beneficial in that it shifts the trust from your ISP to your VPN company. However, this is not always a net gain, depending on who you trust more.

TL;DR It’s complicated, but you should generally avoid a VPN unless there is a particular reason that you need to use it.

Do u see movies alot?!

Who said im using VPN

Im asking thats all
U wrote something which 95 percent of it is judgmental and attacking me instead u just focus on question not the person who ask the q.
Maybe sombody else have the same q and use answers.

The brave browser is not developed by the developers of tor. The only way to connect to tor with the minimum amount of issues and risks is to use the official tor browser.

On the second question, I don’t know, ask them. You definitely don’t need a VPN to use tor. Maybe they live in a country where tor is blocked very harshly, so they use a VPN and then connect to tor. It’s preferable to not use a VPN when using tor

We getting down voted for asking question in r/tor :joy::joy:

For extra secuirity since in tor entry and exit nodes and your isp could report you and the tor nodes could be malicious and to access more geo blocked content and to increase secuirty and privacy and anonymity tahst why TOR+VPN is better

Question 1: Yes you can run onion websites using Brave with tor but I don’t recommend it at all and I don’t think it’s safe enough

Question 2: Yes, you don’t need a VPN

And what is the difference between Brave with tor and Tor browser?

As you know, Private tab doesn’t help you anonymity and doesn’t just store your data. This option gives Brave three features: 1. Private tab in Brave really makes you anonymous because it is connected to Tor. 2. Users who are fans of Tor join Brave because they can also access Tor in Brave, so Brave users will increase. 3. Brave users can access DarkWeb

But Tor browser is the official project app, which means it’s nothing but an app to anonymize the user, but Brave has added this feature to attract users

Another important difference is that Tor Browser is based on Firefox, but Brave is based on Chromium. Firefox is much safer than Chromium

Finally, I suggest you to use Tor Browser to run onion websites and use brave with tor only if you want to have a normal browsing and at the same time be anonymous
