Youtube Tv saying home location is in Philadelphia (not in Philadelphia) and it says I am out of home location changes

How do I go about this issue.

Are you on a cellular or satellite connection?

We have this problem occasionally because our 5G ISP appears to be different from our actual location. The usual solution is to connect a phone to the wifi that is shared with our TVs. YTTV recognizes the location on the phone, and the wifi connection verifies the TV’s location. It took us a while to figure it out, but now we have very few problems.

Something sounds…off…. here. I somehow think there are more details that aren’t being shared.

This happened to me on a cellular once (AT&T mobile).

You can contact 833-389-2054. Also, make sure no one else is using your account since it keeps on changing or are you perhaps using a satellite internet connection? They can also reset your location changes so you can update. It might be also your home area is not your current location. Or you might have signed up before near PH.

The only thing you can update constantly is your current playback which changes from time to time if you’re traveling or set by your ISP via IP address.

YOUR ISP HAS NOT UPDATED YOUR LOCATION! You are loosing speed and PING is probably longer too.

The ISP does not want to spend time/money on changing your Connection location. You will need to YELL at them to get them off their but to change the info! If it is CELLULAR/satalite HOME INTERNET you may need to pay for a new ISP in your area. The wireless types of service have a central hub that handle all of an areas traffic and that address is the ONLY thing youtube can see.

If you are in another state but STILL SERVED BY LOCAL PHILLY station(with antenna/rabbit ears hooked to tv) you might be out of luck until you get permission from EVERY local station AND national feeds to agree on the served location and tell google your area is covered.

I had this issue when I first signed up. Not sure this is your same issue but I fixed mine by logging in to Youtube TV on a computer/not the app, just click on profile picture on the top right and it should have a location option.

I’m so tired of the location crap

I never go anywhere and don’t use VPNs or anything and I’m constantly dealing with “nags” about location and having to click through the “Got it!” page

It makes you feel horrible as a paying customer

have you been hacked?

I had this issue when I first joined and contacted support via chat. They gave me a little speech about burning through my location changes in 1 day (I was new to the service and trying to figure it out and messed up, sue me) and then updated my home area themselves.

We just switched to YTTV and have had this happen to us. I think it’s because we recently switched to Internet Air (AT&T) which does not have a static IP so our location seems to change once in a while.

I went to the YTTV app on my phone and updated my playback location to my area (Ft Lauderdale) and that was that.

Before reaching out to support, I’d suggest figuring out the root cause of your problem. Why has your home location changed more than 2 times already? Long term, sharing the account with people outside of your household or using processes which alter your location tracking are not gonna fly.

Why is it so hard to find things on YouTube tv.? Why is the interface with my tv so clunky?

Try going into settings and updating your home location.

i have been trying to find a support number and the farthest i got was google help line saying the youtube help line is currently down

It shouldn’t matter. However we get our internet, it shouldn’t be our concern, as paying customers, how our internet providers route their traffic. And it shouldn’t be our responsibility to contact our ISP and tell them to route our internet traffic differently. Google is the one that needs to abide by the FCC regulations and it is their responsibility to figure out how. I had to cancel and go to DirecTV because they wouldn’t reset my home location. They said it kept changing. Their problem, not mine.

i did it on the computer and it still says that i have changed my location too many times

the biggest problem is that i literally can’t watch tv at all cause of it
