With Argentina Steam Prices 2k credits are around 5 times more expensive than the game.
With all this fuss about 2k BMDecals worth almost as much as the game, I got curious…
As you might or might not know, Argentina and other 3rd world countries have adjusted steam prices to make games a bit more accessible to our unstable economies.
In-game prices are usually not adjusted tho, just converted to local currency, so the difference becomes abysmal!
To be fair, ARS 225 is about USD 3.75, so the game price in Argentina is 80% less than the US.
IIRC it’s 2x as expensive here in Mexico.
These prices are a joke, don’t buy anything.
Mira lo que hiciste, ahora personas de otros paises van a comprar aca con VPN y steam va a cambiar el precio de todo como hizo con cyberpunk (?
Oof that must suck. I would just buy credits off people
Edit: Credits are about 0.75¢ (USD) so $20 would get you around 2600credits
Feels bad for Argentinians
When you know that most ppl in Argentina make 20k per month and you compare that with the U$1300 in USA , this prices are ridiculous, yes. But the fact that this is not psyonix or Epic fault and it’s because this country is full of idiots ruining the economy is worst.
Same here in Turkey.
Que verga loco la puta que lo parió juego de mierda psyonix y la re concha de tu madre forros del orto tantas noches tradeando para poder comprar llaves al reverendo pedo, oh sorry, I have to speak English
I’m really happy this community is fighting back unlike COD:MW. This money doesn’t go back into the game the way they want you to believe. Its just millions for the billionaires.
While this is a very interesting insight into Steam in other countries, the ratio of “game price:in-game purchase” is an arbitrary and meaningless relationship when discussing the cost of in-game purchases, especially when that game is going to be made free-to-play in the next 12 months.
I never had to pay for the game, so I haven’t been able to rightfully make any comment about the new system. Don’t have a true ground to base anything on and whatnot.
That being said; Christ this has gotten predatory
Don’t say that. Knowing Epic, they’ll just raise the game price and think to themselves, “There. Fixed.”
225 Argentine Peso equals $3.76 United States Dollar.
Free-to-play is already here.
So I should move to Argentina for cheap steam games
Yeah but look at the value, you can get up to ONE black market cosmetic item for that amount!
It’s actually quite cool to hear they try to make games accessible to people who aren’t as well off in LEDC
Well not everywhere. In Hungary we don’t even have our own currency (it’s EUR instead of HUF) let alone adjusted prices.
So I can use a VPN and set myself in a 3rd world country and get games for cheap?
