Why can’t I check out on the Safeway app

Has anyone encountered the same problem as me when buying something on the safeway app?
I tried different payment methods, different devices, and asked customer service, but no one could solve the check out failure.

have you called the store you’re ordering from to see if they’re experiencing any issues with the system?

and I assume you’ve confirmed your app is up to date?

If you go to the mobile browser and go to safeway.com, does it load your app’s cart and allow checkout? Are you using a VPN?

There’s also a high chance they are full in the drive up and go department. Call the sotre

I tried using website and still no luck…oh well Safeway leaving my town soon

Like someone mentioned you have to click on the substitution button and answer that question first before it’ll let you “ continue” . It took me 20 min to figure it out . So thank you to whoever said to do that . Then it was smooth sailing

I was just having this issue while trying to pay with ebt. I removed all substitutions and it worked fine so that must be the problem.

I am running into the same issue with my Chase credit card. My Fiance’s Chase card works and my Wells Fargo card works. It’s only this one card that I am having this issue. Chase and Safeway both can’t figure out why. Did you ever find out a fix for this?

Thanks. I tried updating the app today, but it didn’t work. I asked the store and they said they have many orders every day and have not encountered this problem.:thinking:

thanks. I close vpn already. It loads the cart normally but can’t checkout. Still “order on hold”

If that was the case they wouldn’t be able to select a time

it seems to be your store having an issue, it works for me now have you tried again?

I tried to take out substitutions for everything and it still was giving me errors when trying to use EBT. It’s ridiculous. It’s been this way for months now.

Were there items substituted then? Didn’t the whole process change recently?
