Ways to watch ROOT sports?

I’m going to recommend express VPN it’s feature rich and fast and have used it for years.

I use Surfshark because there is an app for it on Fire Stick so I can watch games on my big TV

Windscribe is free and great

I downloaded nordvpn to my Google TV

Unlocator’s smart dns on your router and you’re set.

Depends… If you just ‘cast’ (chromecast/airplay) mlb app from you phone to your TV the vpn won’t work, as most tvs are use the local app, and if the TV isn’t using a VPN that won’t work. But there’s a few ways around that.

  1. Set up the VPN on your router (might be too much hassle)
  2. If you use a laptop you can connect to your tv by HDMI cord
  3. Cast the chrome tab to your TV vs the app if your using a chrome cast enabled device (or airplay your whole desktop if on Mac)

Yeah. In this case. I concede that point.

But it also hard to find playoff games on broadcast TV.

Contrast that with the NFL who have all their playoff games on broadcast TV.

Its hard to avoid NFL playoff games, and hard to find MLB playoff games.

2 of my buddies and myself split 80/month. So I’m paying 27$ a month to watch the Mariners games. There is a kicker, although up to 3 people can watch at once, only 1 can watch thru the TV app at a time. So two of us have to cast to our TVs from our phones. Which can be a little annoying, but the quality is mint, and I don’t have to fuck with the VPN.

It’s pretty unbelievable that this has been an issue for so many people for so long. My brother is also a huge baseball fan, and watches every team but the mariners, because of this. Root should have an app, and charge $162 for a season pass. That would be sweet. I’m dreamin, I know.

cuz it’s not free haha, i don’t even have it

Plus they’re rarely the root sports broadcast.

But your IP address doesn’t have to be

Get a VPN subscription, I did this last year with NordVPN and it worked great.

I’ve used mullvad in the past and never had any issues with them

And it works? I just happened to bought that (for music at work) so that’s good to hear

Surfshark worked great for me for most of last year but near the end of the season it stopped working for me, I couldn’t get any MLB game to play while it was active. Wondering if others had this happen and hoping it won’t for next year.

what app ?? Trying to watch the M’s games

I was able to work around getting casting working. Start the stream in phone with VPN, turn off VPN, then cast to device. This was more reliable for me then using Nord VPN installed on my Google TV.

MLB.tv and a VPN is the way to go.

Yeah! That’s what it is, I haven’t found any Mariners playoff games in like 20 years

Gotcha. I’ll consider that. Typically I like to watch the games on my TV as opposed to my laptop. But i’m sure there is a workaround for this as well
