VPN to use with Windows 10 Built-In VPN?

I’m currently using OpenVPN-as for remote access to my network but I’d like to use something more compatible with Windows 10. I’ve tried to get SoftEtherVPN working but it’s not connecting and not really giving a reason why; just windows saying something went wrong which is super helpful.

Basically I’m looking for any help with this i can get to try to get something working with Windows 10’s built-in VPN options as opposed to using a third party app on windows, preferably something that uses L2TP/IPsec so it’s not a super insecure setup.

I’m not opposed to having something run in Ubuntu server either as I’ve got an Ubuntu server 18.04 VM running on my unraid box as well.

Are you having an issue with the OpenVPN client? As far as “more compatible” it either works or it doesn’t unless you are looking for a specific feature?

We use openvpn for our business vpn currently.
The ovpn client is shit though, we use viscosity instead works well with win10.

I’m using viscosity right now as well but I’m looking for something that can integrate into windows built in VPN settings

I’m personally using a Ubiquiti Unifi USG, I’m using it with L2TP.
Really easy to setup a pre-shared key and account to login, then just plug it all into Win10 VPN profile.

I have one of the unifi switches and AP’s as well so the full stack works really well and has alot of great data I get out of it in the controller (running as a docker VM).
