So Ivacy has a deal going on right now where you can get 5 years for $80. I was just wondering if this is a good deal. I mostly just torrent movies/games, and just don’t want to get any copyright notices from my ISP. For other recommendations, I would like to stay on the cheaper side. Thanks in advance for any help!
I suggest reading Torrentfreak’s article about anonymous VPNs here Which VPN Providers Take Privacy Seriously in 2024? * TorrentFreak but I’d rather go with a tested VPN for torrenting like NordVPN, ExpressVPN or VPN.ac - heard great things about those and been personally using NordVPN.
Other than that, go to r/vpncoupons, there are some good deals there, maybe you’ll find a suitable price there
I suggest sigavpn.com
I’ve been using it for about a year. The app is not great and drops the connection often not sure if I’m doing something wrong but maybe read about it
There are some rumors that Ivacy is subbranding of PureVPN though.
Ivacy in terms of deal is always good go for it … cant comment much on the features and app
Iam using ivacy via a lifetime deal since 2 years for pretty much everything. Unblocking Netflix. Changing country’s. P2p and more. I get my full connection speed (100/50). Down / up without issue support is fast and great.
I would consider buying a lifetime deal it’s cheaper as your 80 for 5 years.
I dont know about ivacy since I have been recently acquited with VPN but I did get the FastestVPN account from their black friday deal through stack social. It is also a 5 year plan for $0.83 per month. Im using it for a week or so and it is working great for me.
I did purchased this vpn, but few things concerns me:
- They say they don’t log, but also they do mention “if an account is inactive for a year they will delete that account” - if you are not logging how you know which is account is active?
- I have checked the connection through NetMonitor on my android phone and they connect with port 80, which is said to be insecure compared to Nordvpn, surfshark, Privatevpn where they donot connect through port 80. I also requested the support for this query but they didn’t have anything to say on this.
- However the customer support is great, get immediate response from them via email
I have also tested DNS leak from “https://www.doileak.com/” and it reveal the place from where you are browsing.
I have also tested few VPN such as NOrdVpn,PrivateVPN,ExpressVpn, SurfShark,Ivacy and did dnsleak test from “http://dnsleak.com/” as well and only PrivateVpn, SurfShark stand out. Rest of them donot leak out your DNS but then IP add and DNS address are both different - I don’t know how much problem it will create. However with NordVPn not all servers has this issue.
With private VPn you can actually select from which port you want to connect and that is great but I don’t know there are some negative feed back also here"https://thebestvpn.com/reviews/privatevpn/"
I am presently using Surfshark switching from NordVpn, atleast SurfShark have a got warrant canary and I have not noticed any speed drop. Presently they have some bug in windows app, which can cause error while connecting. It is better to use the previous version which is available if contacted to customer support.
Moreover I found this maybe it can be of help:-

I am not an security expert and my evaluation may be incorrect.
Do a test run and if you like it you can purchase from stacksocial they have got some discount.
Regards
I had the same experience with dropped connections unfortunately.
Change protocol it helped for me. Ikev was a tad unstable but open vpn Aka udp is rock solid for me on their client. Or just swap to the open vpn client.
I’ll try openVPN. I already tried all the protocols without much luck. Thanks
