I’ve had the dreaded “need Indian payment method” email, but struggling to make new Apple account……

So I have several devices, I have pcs that I can emulate android, an old android tablet, an old iPad, semi new iPad Pro and a iPhone 14 Pro Max…… last time I tried to make a USA account it logged me out my phone and I lost a few bits…… so I was trying on the older spare iPad I have. I have been on the website on my phone, iPad and work phone (just incase it was my ip address)

Every time I try to make an Indian Apple account I just get an error saying “cannot create account” I’ve tried with and without a VPN, 3 different devices and all come back the same. Is it a miss match with Indian account but UK phone number?

My YouTube login is actually my Gmail account that I used to setup the Indian YouTube, is there any way I can just buy Indian android vouchers and if so how do I make that the default payment method?!

Or……

Why is it not allowing me to make a new Apple ID?

try to create a new local account on your ipad first. No VPN.

Then change the region in the settings. Again, no VPN.

That’s what I did last time to create a turkish account for my friend

So a little update on this one……… I’ve been offered to join multiple family accounts which I appreciate, however I run my own family account as each of my 3 kids and wife have their own accounts so we all have our own feeds and I don’t have to see their rubbish videos on mine :rofl::rofl:.

I’ve been offered people to make me new accounts for around the £100 mark, again thanks but I am not willing to send payments to strangers on a whim that they may actually be honest but this is the internet guys……

I’ve tried a few different things to try and have my own account back working……

As my YouTube account runs with a gmail address I already had it setup for “Indian payments”. I have successfully managed to buy a android Indian voucher via Amazon but every time I try to load it it says “you can only redeem this in India” I have tried with several VPNs but this still occurs, wondering if maybe a proxy would work better……

I had a old Apple ID account from when I made an American account to download Hulu onto my mobile, so I have successfully managed to change that to India, change the email address to to the one that matches my YouTube account, now I think I just need to wait for my account to expire then I will try to pay via the Apple Store.

Go to https://music.apple.com/ and create an account in whatever region you need. No VPN needed. You can then add any additional information using the Apple account site or on a device.

The issue is for some reason, apple doesn’t accept Gmail to create apple ID. Use yahoo or outlook and it should be fine. You’ll still be able to use your regular YouTube account to upgrade to premium, you’ll just be using this Apple id to pay for it, they don’t need to be under the same email for this to work

Maybe you can create an APPLE ID for your country first, and then change the country and region after success.

I have APPLE IDs from multiple countries.

I once converted APPLE ID from China to India.

After conversion, I only need to fill in the address and phone number of the country.

The phone number used for verification is still the originally registered phone number.

This process did not use a VPN.

Not sure anybody has found a foolproof way around it yet, but if you want I have a slot left on my family plan for Ireland …

Go to this linkand make sure all the details are filled out. Not sure why you are being blocked. No need to use a vpn also

Do you do this on your iPhone or a desktop computer? When I try on my phone, it keeps opening the music app.

I seem to have made one via Apple. Just struggling with confirming my phone number but I think that is sorted now too.

I used my Gmail to create the account through Apple Music. But thanks for that piece of advice. Maybe that’s why it said cannot create account.

So when you need to fill in address and phone for that country, does it have to be lock to the region you’re signing up in?

This account I made years ago for the USA. It obviously didn’t ask for a phone number then, I’ve just logged in to check and there is no phone number on the account at all.
