How to check for DNS leak?

I’m trying to check if I get a DNS leak when using proton vpn on dnsleaktest.com but how do I know if the servers listed are ok? I mean, how would I check if they are Proton’s servers?

IPLeak should only show M247 if you’re secure.

Using a paid ProtonVPN account to exit in Los Angeles, ipleak and dnsleaktest correctly identified that I am in Thailand. :frowning:

https://www.dnsleaktest.com/

This website should show you if your DNS is being leaked

Thanks  But what if it’s M247 Europe SRL?
And I usually use it in my country- so how does one check that?

To follow up on this …

The box that leaks DNS is Ubuntu 22.04LTS and I am using the gnome-network-manager to control the Proton VPN connection.

Another box on the same home network is a Pop!_OS box and I am using the ProtonVPN application to control the VPN connection. This connection does NOT leak dns

Edit: I deleted all gnome based VPN connections and installed the ProtoVPN application and I still experience DNS leaks.

I post this for other users information and I am at present to concerned with finding an answer. I am working my way away from Ubuntu Linux and I’m sure a fresh install of whatever distro I use will work just fine.
