Sorry for all the network issues today, we’re continuing to monitor the situation. Status updates will continue to be posted to status.ucsd.edu.
I was at Pepper Canyon Hall and I had a nightmare connecting to UCSD Protected. I somehow managed to connect to Guest but I guess I’m better off using 4G LTE as UCSD wifi is abhorrent. Wonder where our tuition is going to? 
Cue my surprise this morning as I came to campus to deliver the in-person portion of a hybrid discussion section…which ended up taking place outside Center Hall, on my phone, using my own data plan. Thanks UCSD.
It’s embarrassing that students had to do all this get ITS attention and there’s still WiFi problems :
1-students created WiFi petition last year
2-signs on campus about WiFi free zones 
3-multiple Reddit complaints about campus WiFi
4-WiFi complaints so numerous it shows up in UCSD Guardian!!! Great job ITS 
5-student emails Chancellor Kholsa about WiFi problems during Finals this summer. The half brain CIO says “we will fix it!” Then forwards the email down to useless incompetent executive director and manager. All the while executive director tries so hard to put out the fires by threatening students to cease complaints and stop with WiFi free zone signs!!
6-now beloved Pedro Cruz is resigning. More Staff are now panicking on leaving now.
Yeah UCSD IT and network has gone down the drain into the swamp!! Even Network director can’t take it anymore and is leaving!! He put his resignation in today because of incompetence, lies and corruption.
That’s what happens when you have an incompetent staff and network manager!! Outage every week!!

I haven’t heard anything like what they’re mentioning, to be honest. I don’t even know who they’re referring to when they say network director, since I feel like that can apply to several people. And I haven’t heard of any resignations recently for any reason much less this.
