Can anybody help? Pinterest app not working properly on iPhone

Recently my Pinterest app for iPhone has gone weird. It won’t display photos, they’re just blank panels and there is no profile icon in the button line up bottom of screen. Basically, it’s unusable.

It’s the same if I try using Safari on the iPhone.

It’s normal on a desktop Mac.

I’ve checked iPhone settings for the app and that’s missing options that appear on my wife’s iPhone. Which works fine.

Currently running iOS17.5 on iPhone 13 Pro Max

I have deleted and reinstalled too, but no help.

Does anyone have a clue?

I’m having this exact same problem, like it works on my Mac and iPad but not on my iPhone. I restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, logged out and back in, even cleared the app cache and the cache for my phone. Nothing’s worked!

Same problem here on my iPhone. Must be a Pinterest issue - not playing nice with iPhones?

Same here. All pictures just display as a colored tile. Some videos ok but nothing saved or searched loads the pictures. I’ve tried everything multiple times with no luck :face_with_steam_from_nose::enraged_face::face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

My iPad has same issue. Wonder if it’s Apple or Pinterest🤷‍♀️

I have messaged Pinterest with a screenshot so I’ll update if I hear back from them.

So I updated my IOS yesterday and now it’s working today. That’s the only thing I can think of. So if you have any pending updates try it and see.

UPDATE: I messaged Pinterest with screenshots and they asked for a video showing the problem. I sent that and got a reply to say it was being sent to the appropriate team. I’ve just had a message from said team to say aware of problem and working on fixing problem. May take some time.

I have had this problem with my iphone 13 for a long time now. I asked my friends about it who also have the same phone but they don’t seem to have this problem. Very weird.

Idk if this helps but I saw in a different thread that turning off their VPN worked. I turned mine off and also the safe browsing and now after a month it works!! Good luck everyone :grin:

same, mines been like this for months. the fact that there’s still no fix for this is actually pretty insane and unprofessional. apple or Pinterest needs to put out a patch asap. i don’t think enough people are experiencing/reporting it.

As soon as I turned my VPN off Pinterest loaded corretly again. I was using a McAfee VPN, so it may have been blocking it or Pinterest doesn’t work correctly with VPN on iphones all together. Idk haha

I had the exact same problem. It was because of the McAfee safe browsing and vpn. Switch it off and it’s solved

To all, yes the McAfee VPN does seem to be the problem. Does that suggest it’s not Pinterest’s fault? Or can they work with McAfee to correct the issue?

Turn off safe browsing did the trick for me. Downloaded a VPN & put on Safe browsing recently then this issue popped up. As soon as I turned Safe Browsing off it was fixed

This started happening to me when I was logged into MCCafee logged out of it pintrest working

Hey! Hatte genau das gleiche Problem auf meinem Handy und egal auf der App oder in Safari - früher ging es immer. Checkt mal ob ob etwas verändert habt? Andere Datenschutz Einstellungen im Browser oder so? Bei mir lags an meinem VPN - hatte das neulich installiert und das hat die Bilder blockiert - seitdem ich es ausgeschaltet hab geht die App wieder ganz normal - hoffe ihr findet auch bald ne Lösung :slight_smile:
