Buying games from turkish store

Hi

Untill yesterday I was able to buy games on the turkish store with vpn, with an account I created in turkey (also by vpn) i used this method since they blocked the standard “change your region” stuff, so it was all good and could buy more than 50 games at low prices, today I can’t do this anymore, when I connect with vpn go to my turkish account and try to buy a game I have a message in turkish telling “wrong region” do they have ban my turkish account personnaly for using this trick or everyone have the same problem now?

I used Nordvpn, proton and windscribe same error

If you login from any IP address outside of Turkey (even when playing games, etc), you are locked out from purchasing from the Turkish/Brazil/Argentina store for 90 days. This has been in place since late September.
You can still purchase from other regions (US, UK etc) without restrictions.
Currently, the cheapest “non-blocked” region is South Africa.
Edit: South Africa is now blocked too.

Did you register the account on your Xbox recently?

Did you do this using a VPN?

If you did, do you always use vpn while using the account on console.

Did you use the Xbox account to sign in to Geforce now or the like.

You can check some of your sign in activity and IP addesss/location history via account.Microsoft.com and sign in activity.

The other thing to check is the outbound VPN ip address and see if the actual location is Turkey.

Some services may say they are connecting to Turkey but it’s a virtual location on a say UK datacenter IP address and server.

FWIW my VPNed account that was registered with a VPN on console has been working for almost 2 weeks without issues.

Yes. Its been blocked. No way around it, unless you keep your whole router on a VPN constantly.

Idk about everyone else but it’s fine working over here where I am maybe it’s ur VPN I use Urban VPN or Tuxler VPN I never known nord vpn windscribe and IPVanish do not work well for me at least

i bought the Fortnite crew (on 2 of my accounts) directly through my xbox and it worked for some reason

By your own admission you know what you are doing is wrong. Move on and stop taking advantage of price sensitive markets because the people in Turkey who actually rely on the low prices suffer when the market is abused.

No, I always be very careful about the location before connecting to the Turkish account! But I guess I am blocked anyways, I can play the games I purchased this is enough for me now, thx for your answer we will see in 3 month :+1::+1:

How do you purchase from the South Africa region? Is it gift cards or fee free card?

I don’t think this universally true, I have no problems maybe certain accounts are flagged

I always buy from Turkish region on my xbox without any vpn and 90% of the times it works and I’m outside of turkey

Those are excellent questions, and yes I put the account on my xbox recently, I have it for two month, buying games and never connected it on the xbox I was afraid and now you speak about it, it surely was the problem here, if I didn’t register it, I could continue to buy games, but now the account have my real country @IP so no vpn on the xbox, and blocked for 90 days (blocked forever because I play on it every day I don’t have the intention to remove it, or put a vpn on the router because I need my main account also)

I will also follow your suggestions and check my activity on microsoft page

I didn’t know about nordvpn giving false virtual country, so thank you also for this info, I will find a method to check the country first before connecting in vpn to the turkish account

I made a new account, I will buy some games for the few next weeks and when it is filled with games, will connect it on the xbox, I don’t see alternative, how I could connect it without being flagged…

Turkish cards I buy on eneba, 300TRY each then activating the code in redeem section in microsoft website. It allows you to buy on the turkish xbox store with a turkish account, I found some banger title i would have never played otherwise. But Microsoft is getting serious about it and start blocking some methods, I guess it is a matter of time before they officialy remove the possibility to buy anything by VPN

So you just connect to the online store on the website and purchase the games wirh gift cards? Or directly on the xbox? (This method should not work anymore)

Stop spreading FUD. Support already confirmed it to multiple people from this subreddit.

Some countries are poorer than turkey, yet don’t get that price.
