ATT blocking sites?

We have ATT fiber at home and lately I noticed some sites goes to permission denied. But when I go to mobile data, I can open it.
Anyone also noticed this? Or how can I fix this?

It’s most likely the opposite… your ATT IP is being blocked by those websites. Many of those big sites use the same IP Reputation services which would explain why some sites work but others don’t.

sometimes this can happen with the at&t provided security. turn it off

Do u know how to do a ping from the command prompt? I would try the domain name then ping the ipv4 address if that domain name. Tell u if DNS is failing or not.

But no we don’t block sites.

Try another DNS. Or try disabling ipv6 if that fails swap the modem

Can you specify what websites are doing this?

what browser are you using? try Brave and see what happens…

Yea I have this issue on occasion. CS says they’ll look into it. Disappears a week later and then returns.

My estimation is that the vast majority of problems can be solved by not using the AT&T DNS and instead using an alternative such as cloudflare, etc. VPN helps too. Otherwise, AT&T fiber has generally been reliable for me.

What does your smart home manager say?

ATT security on the modem can’t be fully disabled. You have a few options

Like mentioned above try changing the dns on your computer. I prefer using the cloudflare dns 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1

My personal preference is to just cloudflare warp. It’s free and works across all platforms

https://1.1.1.1/

Another option is that you computer may have been compromised and your dns is already pointing to something malicious. Run malware scans. Most consumer ISPs use dynamic IP addresses. It can be changed by simply power cycling the modem

VPN is an option but some sites block VPN traffic

Cheers!

It’s their dns server

AT&T is definitely blocking VPN traffic. Call them and tell them that you have to use a VPN for work.

We have a major problem with many websites like retail, some federal govt websites block our AT&T IP address. Is there any process to request AT&T to change our IP address. We switched from Comcast Xfinity due to their exborant fees. There we had no issues with that ip address and their service. Why the drastic change? I do use a VPN for work and there no difference, the same websites are blocked. Using non vpn my other devices Also I notice many believe its a german ip address lol, says we’re out of country.

Any way to release the ip and renew to get a new one?

At&t security has not even activated

Random. Like some retail stores like Macys, walmart, etc.

Tried chrome, Firefox and edge.

It says your internet looks good

Hey, your comment really helped me. AT&T is blocking my doctor’s website, so I kept having to tether my phone to access it. The cloudflare warp that you suggested lets me access it without the tether. So, thank you.

yeah this helped me out for the time being to fix the issues, couldnt load amazon affiliated sites at all. hopefully att improves their dns in the future
