Are there any websites which aren't blocked when using ProtonVPN?

Reddit, google, and a ton of other sites can detect and will force you to do 20 captchas in a row if you use Proton VPN. Its been happening for a while and I bought the a premium subscription to stop it in July. I was wondering, is there any way to get an IP which isn’t blocked by everyone? If not, I’m probably cancelling my subscription and start looking elsewhere.

VPN providers IPs are public information. All VPN providers are identifiable. Lots of sites prefer to hinder or entirely block VPN traffic due to abuse, cutting into profits, or bypassing their location restrictions. Some other providers provide dedicated IPs but that counters privacy benefits and is still identifiable as being an IP allocated to a VPN provider

I have never had that happen. I sometimes get a captcha when using Librewolf, but if your normal browser has cookies enabled that shouldn’t be an issue. Also 20 captchas is absurd, something went wrong with that site.

If you want to switch you need to look into providers like “Mullvad”, “AirVPN” and “IVPN”. VPN Providers with free tiers have many pretty much guaranteed “tainted” ips. You could also just host a wireguard server for your personal VPN, would only have one IP then obviously.

I recommend using a different search engine than google if you’re using a VPN, for example startpage or qwant.

This isn’t a ProtonVPN-specific problem, though. This is a problem with VPNs in general.

I use startpage.com instead of google. Start page fetches search results anonymously from Google and doesn’t block any VPNs.

Which protocol are you using? I have the same problem if it’s set to WireGuard, but not so much with other options like OpenVPN. I also have problems if I set it to block ads. No problem if I set to block Malware only.

US servers work fine for me except for Instagram on desktop which never wants to work.

If you get that many capchats one after the other, it’s usually your adblocker, disable it.

Old man shouts valid points at a non existent cloud

Falling on deaf ears unfortunately. The masses will always do what’s most convenient. In this case, OP will almost definitely end up just turning off the VPN.

The paid IPs are different than the free IPs.

Cookies enabled? You mean third party cookies? Seriously?
And “free” VPN Providers steal your personal data for selling them. For hey, they have to make money. Don’t use these.

Honestly, why are you using a VPN in the first place as you obviously don’t care about your privacy at all?

Really? Proton VPN is free where do you see them selling data? Must be trolling.

The comment I was reacting to speaks about Mullvad, AirVPN and IVPN. Nowhere I read the name ProtonVPN in that comment. So, no trolling.
