Looking for an alternative to PIA that support kill switch on Apple TV.
I am using ExpressVPN and have found it pretty good (streaming stuff from the UK is my main deal). I was pleased to see the Apple TV app appear recently and it’s been great. The only issue is that you can’t (currently) disable it from the control centre and you need to turn it on and off in its own app.
If you keep the country you’re using it’ll stay on that country next time you wake the Apple TV. As long as you don’t go disconnect it manually it’ll stay connected until you restart your device or if the Apple TV loses power. This is NordVPN that I’m using. Can’t speak for other VPN’s
So it doesn’t auto launch?
If you turn it on, it stays on until you turn it off. If you try to disconnect from the “VPN” section in Control Center it just turns itself back on again (though this may be a bug that gets fixed at some point).
If you power down the Apple TV and turn it back on again then the VPN is still on. I assume it’s maintaining its internet connection via the VPN while it’s sleeping, but that’s just a guess.
