Hello everyone, is there a way I can use NordVPN on my Apple TV? Because I’ve heard that many VPN providers have a method where you change the DNS of your network to specific ones so it could act as a VPN. Is this method available for NordVPN? Let me know, thanks!
I would not recommand using a vpn on your apple tv. A lot of features will stop working for example you can no longer use screen mirroring and some apps will see that you have a vpn and will not play ypur videos.
If you really want to i thjnk that there is a possibility to install a vpn on your router so it you have a vpn connection it on every device you connect to.
Maybe it is possible to get it only on the apple tv but did not hear anythung about it. I hope i could help

Yeah you’re right, basically I’m trying to watch Disney+ on my Apple TV with AirPlay, and since my region doesn’t support Disney+, I’m obliged to use a VPN. But as you said, when I try playing any movie or TV show from Disney+ by AirPlaying my iPad (connected to NordVPN) to my Apple TV, the AirPlay connection just cuts by its own and I get an error message saying Disney+ is unable to play the video. NordVPN should definitely make an app for the Apple TV, it would be much easier to stream Netflix, Disney+ and all the other video subscription services with a VPN on it.

but I remember it was talking about getting a cheaper vpn compatible smaller router that you can connect to when you want to use a vpn if you don’t want your whole network to be on it.
There’s also a central Adblock thingy that can go on routers with a raspberry pi so there might be some guides on their sites
It really depends on what you want to do and what router you have or need. If you want to use Nord VPN google “Nord VPN router” to see their options. Good luck!
You can get one of the GLI Net routers, connect your Apple TV to it, connect the router to Nord and you’ll be set.

No it doesn’t work for me since my router isn’t supported for this method and all of this is too complicated. I’ve contacted them by live chat, and they told me that they’re working on an easier method to get a VPN working on the Apple TV, which is the SmartDNS method (it would allow you to manually change the DNS of your network to specific ones provided by NordVPN). This feature will be added in the future, but no ETA according to them
Nevermind it’s too complicated and my router doesn’t even support NordVPN. Hope they’ll release a NordVPN app for Apple TV
