Hello,
I have two Xiaomi smartphones, both with AdGuard for Android. Both seem to have the same VPN settings (double-checked yesterday), but on one of them, AdGuard doesn’t stay up, and Android displays an error message:
Disconnected from permanent VPN
I turn on permanent VPN in Android settings, under “VPN” main section again, but then, I get this error message again… I checked authorizations granted to AdGuard, all the ones necessary for AdGuard have green checkboxes… I restarted the smartphone, to no avail… Same notification popping up…
On my other working smartphone, AdGuard is set to start automatically in the background. This is the proper way to set it, right? (I don’t have any problem with that other smartphone). Other than that, battery savings is set to “no restrictions”. In Android, under Settings > VPN
, VPN is on, and AdGuard’s settings say VPN is always on.
Could you help me, please?
Thank you.
Some servers just like that. It’s not your phone.
No matter what you do, it’ll be like that. Choose another server. For me, Los Angeles is stable altho the ping is high 200ms. But it stays connected for some days already vs disconnected every some hours
Thanks. I’m lost… Are we talking about the same app? I’m using the Adguard for Android app… I don’t think we can change a server anywhere in the settings… It’s only a local VPN used to block content, right? I searched everywhere in the settings but didn’t see anywhere how to change a server… Any idea?
Oh, go to AG for Android settings > find the Watchdog option there & enable it. It should help.
Sorry I thought AdGuard VPN

Nope, I don’t use the AG local coz honestly, it doesn’t do anything particularly well without root.
The HTTPS filtering doesn’t really do much on stock phone.
You better off with AG VPN for blocking the majority of ads. Get the cheap license on StackSocial, trust me.
Thank you. It looks like so far so good
