A free solution against Lags in Tibia (for EU Players)

Hello Tibians,

as we all know many players actually suffer from Lag spikes or even constant high ping (250++) especially on EU Worlds - same goes for me. Paying for a “PingService” (in addition to p-account what we can’t even use as intented) isn’t a good solution, so here is a way to lower your ping for free - with a small limitation:

Hide.me - VPN
https://hide.me

Download the client > register for free > enjoy.

  • A VPN Service provider that offers a free package you can renew every month.
  • The server for free users is located in The Netherlands with a stable ping around 70-110ms
  • With the limitation of 2GB traffic limit/month (and the traffic tibia produces is very low)

My results so far after 2 weeks:

  • Always a nice ping around 80ms~
  • still 1.4GB of traffic left (so I can easily use this service the whole month without running out of traffic)
  • Not a single kick/connection timeout or any other problems

One thing needs to be told:
You can’t watch YouTube, twitch or do any other stuff beside because your traffic limit will be reached in no time.

Just a simple solution for those who need it and can “look over” the small limitations.

After a couple weeks of constant 400 ms and a response from Cip stating that I was being routed to the USA and backwards, I decided to give the free trial a go.

It works like a charm, but I’m still considering whether I want to pay both proxy and premium account for Tibia or if I should just quit for good and let Cip rot in hell for being terrible with their business decissions…

Side question: has anyone tried VPNs on rowana/servers protected by BattleEye?

Do you think it will prevent “connection lost”?, i’ve been getting connection lost sereral times each 10 minutes lately and i would like to fix it. If anyone have the same problem and know how to fix i would be glad if you shared how to:)

I can’t really afford a proxy and this doesnt really fit my standarts (because I gotta watch a video or something while playing tibia, even if its a music video), thanks for the effort and I’ll give this a shot, if I see a proxy actually helps me out I’ll maybe invest in one or try to find another one for free.

update: one day I’ll find a vpn/proxy servers that will help me with ping, so far tibia tunnel noping and this wont help me with ping, most proxy services actually make the route longer for Israel  .

For the last 2 weeks I’ve had 250+ ping all of the time, 350+ when there’s a lot of players on.

Installing this took less than 5 minutes and with it I’m at 99-140ping, what the fucking hell CIP? How have they managed to screw this up?

Haven’t played for a while, is this something cip is working on fixing?

Are there known causes for these lags?

connecting through a VPN introduces a lot of security issues, if you value your account then I wouldn’t recommend you using it, especially if its a free service, paid package might be worth it tho like with noping

One thing needs to be told: You can’t watch YouTube, twitch or do any other stuff beside because your traffic limit will be reached in no time.

So in that case you are forced to just play, can’t watch/listen. That’s bad :frowning:
Wish there was still tibia 10

7e per month is not that bad imo

so far NoPing is working just fine on battleye protected servers.

Battleping works fine.

It might prevent connection loss aswell, there is a canadian server aswell you can chose in the free version, if you are from the USA or somewhere near canada.

I don’t have any problems so far with this service but would be nice if you guys tell how it works for you if you test it.

So it works for you Aswell?

They work on a fix since weeks and I doubt they will fix it within the next days… For me atleast the game would be totally unplayable without an external ping service.

Thats not true. A VPN can even provide a higher level of security, the free edition of the hide.me VPN Service already comes with the IKEv2 protocol which is one of the best encryption techniques including AES 128, 192, 256. (Developed by Cisco)

While setting up your own OpenVPN is fairly easy on many providers (AWS, DigitalOcean…), it still requires time and effort many people won’t be willing to put into it.

On top of that, in the case of AWS, there’s a 50GB bandwidth limit for the free tier, so you’re basically stuck with the “no youtube, twitch or any streaming stuff on the background while playing” rule, which sucks for certain individuals - me myself have used ~290GBs traffic this month and it’s still 10 days remaining.
While you could try and see the cost of increased bandwidth, hide.me’s solution allows me to use as much traffic as I want for 9€ a month, but I’m still unsure whether I wanna put 16€ monthly into Tibia, specially when half the cost is due their faulty infrastructure.

I just dont wanna get banned/deleted for no reason with all the bullshit bans ive seen getting posted here.

Yep it does, but Hide.me is just a free solution that works if someone doesn’t want to pay an extra service.

It says “20 minute disconnects. No sign Up” so I need to logout every 20 minutes in the middle of a hunt?
