as we all know many players actually suffer from Lag spikes or even constant high ping (250++) especially on EU Worlds - same goes for me. Paying for a “PingService” (in addition to p-account what we can’t even use as intented) isn’t a good solution, so here is a way to lower your ping for free - with a small limitation:
After a couple weeks of constant 400 ms and a response from Cip stating that I was being routed to the USA and backwards, I decided to give the free trial a go.
It works like a charm, but I’m still considering whether I want to pay both proxy and premium account for Tibia or if I should just quit for good and let Cip rot in hell for being terrible with their business decissions…
Do you think it will prevent “connection lost”?, i’ve been getting connection lost sereral times each 10 minutes lately and i would like to fix it. If anyone have the same problem and know how to fix i would be glad if you shared how to:)
I can’t really afford a proxy and this doesnt really fit my standarts (because I gotta watch a video or something while playing tibia, even if its a music video), thanks for the effort and I’ll give this a shot, if I see a proxy actually helps me out I’ll maybe invest in one or try to find another one for free.
update: one day I’ll find a vpn/proxy servers that will help me with ping, so far tibia tunnel noping and this wont help me with ping, most proxy services actually make the route longer for Israel .
connecting through a VPN introduces a lot of security issues, if you value your account then I wouldn’t recommend you using it, especially if its a free service, paid package might be worth it tho like with noping
It might prevent connection loss aswell, there is a canadian server aswell you can chose in the free version, if you are from the USA or somewhere near canada.
I don’t have any problems so far with this service but would be nice if you guys tell how it works for you if you test it.
They work on a fix since weeks and I doubt they will fix it within the next days… For me atleast the game would be totally unplayable without an external ping service.
Thats not true. A VPN can even provide a higher level of security, the free edition of the hide.me VPN Service already comes with the IKEv2 protocol which is one of the best encryption techniques including AES 128, 192, 256. (Developed by Cisco)
While setting up your own OpenVPN is fairly easy on many providers (AWS, DigitalOcean…), it still requires time and effort many people won’t be willing to put into it.
On top of that, in the case of AWS, there’s a 50GB bandwidth limit for the free tier, so you’re basically stuck with the “no youtube, twitch or any streaming stuff on the background while playing” rule, which sucks for certain individuals - me myself have used ~290GBs traffic this month and it’s still 10 days remaining.
While you could try and see the cost of increased bandwidth, hide.me’s solution allows me to use as much traffic as I want for 9€ a month, but I’m still unsure whether I wanna put 16€ monthly into Tibia, specially when half the cost is due their faulty infrastructure.
