Youtubetv thinks I’m in another country…
I don’t have any VPN setup, it’s an Apple TV hardlined to my switch to my router directly. Where am I Ip search shows my city as here in the states.
(But strangely google gives me a language selection sometimes, unlike other pages. No idea what’s going on here.)
I also have a deco WiFi extender, but that shouldn’t matter since it’s the hardline. Also I’ve rebooted the router but it didn’t have an effect.
Does anyone have any tips, or is there some YouTube tv service link/contact somewhere?
Thanks.
This happened a few times to me and similar to mentioned Google, you can just change it manually - there’s an option both for Language and Location when you open account menu. And it mostly works (but never for ads lol), but yeah, there’s some issues with their tracking systems, which in my cases self-fixes within a few days. It is what it is.
You might have the icloud VPN turned on. Private Relay is what its called, check your icloud settings in your phone. The Atv respects that so if you turn relay off on your phone…
Your router could be configured to point to DNS servers in another country.
Are you sure you’re not in another country?
Thought about that and switched manual DNS on the Apple TV using the Google servers. Didn’t help.
(Eventual fix was “verifying my location” with exact address from my phone, even though the city was already correct on the location in YouTube tv. I guess something triggered more data gathering/updating necessary.)
