There’s a thing called split horizon routing where you can keep the vpn up but only select websites or services use it. No need to turn on or off over and over.

It’s not just you. YouTube decided a while ago to stop the abuse by some of their customers. If you claim to be living in a certain country you now must be able to prove that with a billing address and payment method from that country. YouTube doesn’t care about VPN or proxies, billing address and local payment cards are the requirements.
It’s easy to cheat with VPN or proxies but very difficult to do so with billing addresses and payment cards.
you do need to get local payments and you can upgrade up to 2 years, but only individual plan not family.

For me that’s the only solution to block ads on iPad and Google TV. Sadly I haven’t found a way to block it on Tizen though

you don’t even need a vpn, you can just create new account or use any secondary account and they upgrade it for you. takes less than 5 minutes
