I, like OP, am trying to find a way (at least temporarily) around the TikTok ban. I also know absolutely nothing about computers / coding / VPNs lol. But I do have an Android! How could one go about doing this? Thanks!!

We’re not fine with our data being sold domestically. Congress does not listen to its constituents. Most of them are elderly & dont even understand half of what is going on in tech privacy. Congress is also corrupt & makes more money off of us being on meta, etc. They make nothing from tiktok. They also fear that we can collaborate & make change quickly thru tiktok.

Well to start with that is a false statement. Secondly, if my data is going to harvested either way, I’d prefer it not be by companies directly controlled by the CCP. I’m sure you think they are innocent though.

Some tourists visiting India mentioned they can load the app if they’re on airplane mode and use wifi (not even a VPN is needed), but there are also others that can’t even with a VPN, so it’s a coin toss.

Me personally, never cared for the “data being sold” or whatever. I just cant stand the idiocy and cringe the app offers. Things can be funny and all, but some of the jokes and trends you find on there get old so swiftly. Itd be fine if they didnt bleed into the real world.

Look up revanced manager. They might have a guide but basically,

  1. install revanced manager from their website
  2. pick app you want to patch in this case tiktok and it’ll tell you the recommended version
  3. download the APK of the recommended version of the app (it’ll Google it for when you click it within the revanced app.
  4. choose downloaded app
  5. select desired patches
  6. patching app takes about 10 min
