Why PwC Audit of NordVPN No-Log Policy is a Big Deal

Why PwC Audit of NordVPN No-Log Policy is a Big Deal

It’s hard to judge the report itself as no one has ever run an audit nor has been audited in regards to the no logs policy claims before, so who knows how it’s actually being done and what could or couldn’t be shared publicly. But I guess people can’t understand something they don’t know. It’s a security company, so I’m not surprised that they can’t share everything as the information might be sensitive towards their vendors or smth. I’ve read that they hired a ‘big four’ company with an aim to add as much credibility on the audit as possible, but this comes with a cost of some legal restrictions for the content and its distribution, which sounds reasonable. I don’t know about others but I think there aren’t any reasons to doubt the shared results, I’ve read the report in my Nord account and feel like this audit was a good thing for them, hope other providers will do this in the future as well.

Here is the research I have done:

• Nordvpn has a shell company in Panama. It does not run Nordvpn. Nordvpn claims they are owned and run by Tefincom S.A. in Panama. The address they give is used by OTHER shell companies, as well as their own.
• Nordvpn claims that their HQ is in Panama, and that Tefincom S.A. actually runs the company.
• Nordvpn accepts payments through a company called Cloudvpn, Inc.
• The president/director of Cloudvpn, Inc. is Darius Bereika. He lives in Lithuana.
• Nordvpn has an app on the Google Play store, called Nordvpn. It is signed by Cloudvpn.
• There is an old version of Nordvpn’s website in the wayback machine, which can be viewed in either English, or in Lithuanian. That means Nordvpn is based in Lithuania.
• Darius Bereika is also the CEO of Tesonet.
• Tesonet does, and HAS, run a data mining botnet.

Whether or not Nordvpn is involved in any data mining, does not matter. This right here is very VERY SHADY. Why would you want to turn over all of your internet activity to this lot? Think about it! The only thing you have to rely on here is trustworthiness and transparency. I don’t see ANY trustworthiness or transparency going on here.

I suppose it is possible that some other Lithuanian people own Nordvpn, and they just hired Cloudvpn to handle their payments for them in the US, AND code their Android app for them. Even then, these same Lithuanian people are still trying to hide behind a shell company in Panama. What is most LIKELY is that Cloudvpn IS Nordvpn, and Darius Bereika IS the CEO of Nordvpn.

I posted this, plus my sources, here:

I don’t believe it. There’s still an outstanding lawsuit.

Exactly! Still did not prove that NordVPN is based in Panama and that article is paid to post or like you were saying owned by NordVPN.

Edit: Recent allegation was not about logging, its all about the UBO of Tefincom/NordVPN and where it exactly based at.

We can only guess how many of all providers that claim to be based/located in Panama, Seychelles or similar ex banana republic, are in reality just using shell companies…

Usually Cyprus is a cut-out for Russian money. It is quite easy to establish Russian owned companies and very tax efficient. Panama gives quasi-anonymity.

Oh and PWC did some very dodgy audits for the Russian government and state entities.

I suggest reading the information properly because I’m pretty certain that you’ve mixed it up - Luminati is suing Tesonet for patent infringement, it has nothing to do with NordVPN, it’s not being sued by anyone

Did you know that more than 96 percent of American households buy bananas at least once a month?

^^I’m a Bot bleep bloop | Unsubscribe |

The guy who infringed on the patent manages both Tesonet and Cloudvpn, and Cloudvpn most likely is Nordvpn - point being that the guy is not someone to trust.
