Yeah I read about it a few years ago when I was toying with F-Secure through Spectrum/Charter’s internet security suite before I switched to fiber. If you look at the AV Comparatives test, right after the tested product section it lists the 3rd party engines and signatures.
I personally don’t trust AV-test or AV comparatives because they recommend Norton and McAfee.
I agree with this statement, it’s all sponsored and paid for lies. I have to laugh at certain people on this subreddit that have said that Eset performs worse than Windows Defender in terms of protection because AV-Test and AV comparative scored it low.
I run Eset on 2 of my machines and Kaspersky on my daily driver, can’t tell the two apart in terms of protection to be honest, it all comes down to how uneducated you are when browsing the internet and what you base your threat model on.
Anyone or any site that recommends products such as Norton, McAfee or TotalAV to name 3 over products such as Eset, Bitdefender or Kaspersky have no credit and should instantly be dismissed and ignored.
