Proton vpn. Itll be slow and sometimes not work, but its free. For phones i use lets vpn. Pretty cheap but its mobile only.
https://dpn.deeper.network/ it’s deeper networks beta app. Working well for me. Will become paid at some point.

You need Testflight since it’s in Beta. I don’t really know more, since I don’t use apple.

Strange I’m in China for about a week and it’s worked decently well for what I need (browsing, texting, audio only podcasts).
One or two nights the servers were all overloaded so it was extremely slow but most of the time it works. It seems to only be able to connect to some of the servers on the list though, not all.
It has been pretty damn reliable for the last few months for me.
Sorta. But it was slow. I recommend PT VPN instead. It’s free, fast and always works in china.
