I’ve used OpenVPN on Windows and Chomebook/Android devices but now I want to configure it directly on a router. The options on the Mullvad page are Windows, Mac, Linux, IOS, Android. Which one do I download for my Asus router?
Since Asus routers requite .ovpn config files you can choose either iOS or Android, both produce identical files. But using Wireguard on a router is a better option since it’s much less resource-intensive protocol, you should get higher speeds. At least try both OVPN and WG to determine which one works better for you.
Mine only supports OpenVPN, PPTP, and IPSec, but thanks. I’ll try one of those.
You might just need to update router firmware to latest version. Most Asus models support Wireguard.
