APPARENTLY WE HAVE A RESORT???
The Marina del Rey Aquatic Center has a bunch of free/almost-free activities for UCLA students like kayaking
UCPD holds an annual Bike Day where they sell all the abandoned bikes that they picked up in the past year that nobody claimed
Geffen Playhouse has same-day student tickets to near-Broadway-level shows for really cheap
Also this isn’t a “fun” one, but Inter-Library Loans are so amazing when you think about it. You can request any book from any library in the whole UC system, and they will either scan in a chapter for you or drive the book to UCLA for you to pick up for free
A lot of students don’t know about the free classes and resources at the Maker Space. 3D printing, wood working, laser cutting, t shirt making and embroidery… It was one of my favorite places to go after class
Free coffee in the transfer center in Kerckhoff*
CPO gives food gift cards every quarter
SWC gives a subsidy every quarter for essentials such as shampoo, cleaning products, etc
usac academic affairs refunds you for your textbooks
I don’t know if this is little known, but it was lifesaving to me this quarter. My laptop broke and I requested one from UCLA library and got a usable one to borrow air-shipped to me within 2 days.
RISE: Bunch of resources focusing on holistic wellbeing. They have meditations, mindfulness activities, and so on. They also hold live events to talk about self-care and wellness.

Mental health awareness about all the other resources out there is sparse, so thought we’d drop this here.
And since we’re running a campaign, here’s the disclaimer just in case:

A lot of people don’t know this but “these hands” are for everyone. You should check em out.
CAE for academic accommodations if you have illnesses or disabilities. Accommodations can be for tests, early passes, notes from classmates, etc. I think you need to be referred to it by your physicians or therapists, but perhaps you could just contact them directly if you think you’re qualified. (There might also be non-academic accommodations such as housing, but I didn’t use any.)
-Student-run snack shop (HSSEAS Café or something I don’t remember what it’s actually called) in 1st floor Boelter Hall has 80 cent coffee that tastes better than dining hall and Kerchoff black coffee imo. Also the lids on their cups actually fit nicely on the cup so it doesn’t spill everywhere when you’re speedwalking to class. Plus lots of Yerb, pre-wrapped pastries, etc. for sale. Cash only.
-UCLA Bike Shop and Outdoor Adventures center is in the backside of Wooden. Bike Shop is DIY with free, gently used parts available plus guidance from trained student technicians. Outdoor Adventures rents out camping and backpacking equipment to UCLA students and anyone else with a UCLA Recreation membership. Rates are typically lower than REI and other local shops. OA also conducts outdoor skills workshops periodically throughout the year. www.recreation.ucla.edu/oa
Adding on the the library:
We have access to a crud ton of scientific journals if you use the UCLA VPN, and the library website has some pretty powerful research tools.
Uh how about alumni? Do we get access to those somehow as well?
Marina del Rey Aquatic Center
??? WE CAN KAYAK FOR FREE RN?
Any chance you know when the next bike say is?
The fraternity is ΑΓΟ (Alpha Gamma Omega or just A.G.O.). It’s on Landfair, and they are all wonderful people. They also give out water bottles and have vegetarian options I believe
I second the bus pass, I got so much use out of my pass when I had it. To add, you can get a bike pass for Westwood and Santa Monica for super cheap, I think like $7 a month. You get an hour of use every day!
Username checks out.

Yes! The library also has free chargers, HDMI cords, etc. that you can borrow. And their computers have pre-installed software like Adobe Creative Suite
