Vps flagged as proxy/vpn

Hi

sorry for the dumb question, i just tried a to connect to a vps using Pritunl because i need to visit a website and i need to do it while being protected, but the website in question have some kind of radars that prevent from visiting if you are under a vpn/proxy, so i thought maybe using Pritunl and a Vultr vps i would be able to vist, but without any luck. Once i logged in to the vultr vps using Openvpn it flagged me as beign under a proxy/vpn…

Maybe there’s another solution that i’m not aware of ?

Thanks

There probably isn’t a solution except to use smaller VPS providers since odds are the website has flagged the IP ranges of bigger providers. There is a chance they don’t have the smaller providers range flagged.

If I’m understanding your post, some sites do block access from common VPS providers. I see this from time to time while using one of my Linodes as a VPN. One time I signed up for hosting and my new account was placed on hold for verification because I’d left my VPN connected while I signed up and the IP was “suspicious”.

I’m assuming they are blocking by IP addresses, so you might just have to try another VPS or VPN provider that works for that site.

Maybe it’s me but i’m under the impression that a basic vps like the ones on vultr is not so different than a vpn ?

Or maybe it’s because i choose a pritunl server ? Maybe it’s not like deploying a “normal” vps ?

Yes that may be a solution, i also thought about getting a smaller vps.

Maybe you can recommend one or two ?

Not likely to work. Small VPS providers just use rented servers and IP addresses which means the IP belongs to the bigger fish.

You’ll want to find a service that offers residential IPs.

I don’t have much choice but to try ? Even if there is almost no chance at all…
