Hey I am wondering is there any good recommendations using VPN for gaming specifically? I don’t mind paying the extra buck as long as I’ll have a stable connection with a decent ping , I’ve been experiencing lately terrible pings with my current internet connection, I guess something happened with the routing but I dont know
A ton of people here are missing the point of a VPN for gaming and don’t understand it?
1.) A good VPN routes can lower your ping dramatically if you are not living in places like EU/USA. People outside there have to use many, and I mean many, different routes.
2.) VPN’s can re-route you over a lower latency backhaul or Long Distance fibre. Sometimes some routes are overloaded and VPN providers have done a decent job are re-routing.
3.) Accessing regions when the server doesn’t put you in the right one. For example, if I play Overwatch 2. It defaults to put me in MEA, which is a pretty dead server at 140ms, where I would rather play on Europe at 170ms.
A VPN can fix routing, but of course, if your issue is near your local exchanges/hubs and even router, then yeah of course it wont.
A VPN shouldn’t change your routing at all. Most Network routers are set to always forward all traffick to the next biggest router until you reach a big data center. It keeps the routing tables smaller than way. There usually are only 4 to 5 hops until you reach said data center and your VPN will most likely use the same way.
100% correct in all regards.
