VPNs and port forwarding help

I have a t-mobile hotspot internet which is replacing my DSL connection, however the t-mobile hotspot internet doesn’t support native port forwarding for self hosted game servers. I’m wondering if there is a vpn that can allow me to continue selfhosting game servers on my server. If possible while I’m at it I would like to set up vault warden to be securely accessible from outside my local internet. I’ve been looking into PIV paired with OpenVPN however I’ve been seeing some conflicting information on what it’s capable of.

Thanks for any help, and sorry for the hastily written chunk of text.

I can highly recommend Tailscale to remotely access your stuff. That’s how I reach mine.

As for portforwading over VPN I can’t suggest much. It was a headache when I looked at it the last time. Fortunately I don’t need it anymore. If I had to set up portforwading over VPN again, I would look in to setting up a VPS. It will cost slightly more than a VPN, but you will have more ports to work with in your projects.

Hi,
There are plenty of posts about the same discussion in this sub, you can review. A couple of days ago, i searched the very same thing.
VPN like Airvpn, PIA supports port forwarding, with that you can bypass the conventional portfowarding in Router.
For me, i was not sure with which service to go. But there was a conflict with PIA and 1 month plan of PIA was costlier than Airvpn and was only 1 port you can forward with PIA, that also you cannot select. So ultimately went on with Airvpn on 1 month trial basis.
But so far so good experience, just couples of server, i had to change manually, as the server which i put under my open vpn, went down. But rather than this, speed and ports are working good…
