VPN Setup assistance

Greetings. I am having some issues getting the VPN Plus service to work.

My setup is as follows:

att fiber->att modem->Synology Router

I have tried putting the att router in DMZ mode for the router and in port-forwarding mode.

I have watched some youtube videos and followed the Synology instructions with no luck. I have used the URL provided and the external IP and ensured my user account has permissions to use the VPN service.

I am attempting to login from my cell phone using the Synology VPN Plus app.

I can connect to Nord VPN so I don’t believe my cell service is blocking anything, however, I am not sure if att blocks anything on residential service or not; I would be surprised if they did.

Any troubleshooting and/or advice before I get a ticket opened with Synology support would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for the suggestion!

I have setup multiple VPNs previously from various vendors over my ~23 years in IT, and I have not had any issues getting other Synology services running as expected, however, all the VPN videos/walk-throughs are straight forward and simple, it’s just not working for some reason on my setup.

My next move is to clone my att routers MAC and see if I can just use the Synology router without involving att support as we all have experienced the pain that induces.

If that STILL doesn’t get it, I’ll get a ticket opened up with Synology. They’ve been responsive in the past and they can dig through the logs to hopefully find the culprit.

On a side note, I can connect while I am on the local wifi, so at least that should rule out any certificate/credential issue. I currently suspect the att router is breaking the encapsulation even though I am setting it in DMZ mode.
