VPN location not reflecting on streaming services

Netflix, Hulu, etc. all ignore my VPN location and only show me US based content or they totally keep me from streaming at all due to the VPN. Is there a step I am missing to be able to use NordVPN for global streaming?

I’ve tried various browsers as well Brave, Chrome, etc.

I don’t stream Netflix, but I do stream a lot of content originating outside of the U.S…

Are you located outside of the U.S.? Do you have a paid subscription to HULU and or Netflix? (since, to the best of my knowledge, HULU and Netflix are subscription-only services?). If yes, what country did you register in / from? They may not grant you access to content from regions outside of your home region. What form of payment did you use when you subscribed? PayPal, Zelle, your foreign bank’s credit card? These could be your major sticking points. I know when I accessed HULU when I was a subscriber, a few times I forgot to turn off my VPN set to a non-U.S. country and they flashed me an on-screen message stating I must be on vacation and the service is not available outside of the U.S.

Make sure that whatever device you’re using to stream, has location services turned OFF (smart phone, iPad, etc.). Set your device‘s time to the local time of the region you want to stream and connect your VPN, BEFORE you open the app.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
