VPN download for iPhone Users

Hey guys, like many of you, I deleted the app Saturday night, thinking it was a login issue. Today, I’ve finally gotten it re-installed. Here’s a step-by-step of what I had to do:

- Download a VPN. I opted for NordVPN which is a couple of bucks a month but it looks like there are some free options also.

- In “Settings” go to “General Settings”, down to “Language & Region” and change your region to Canada.

- Also in “Settings” click on your name at the top, and go down to the tab that says “Media & Purchases”

- In this tab, you also need to change your location to Canada. The issue is, if you have any subscriptions, you’ll need to cancel them. I have a ton, so that wasn’t an option. Therefore, I created a new Apple ID on my computer, registered the address to Canada, and didn’t put in any payment information.

- In the Media & Purchases tab, sign out, and sign in with your new Apple ID from Canada.

- Restart your phone, fire up your VPN, make sure it’s on a Canadian server, and go to the app store and search for Snap.

- The first time I did this after switching everything I finally saw the app, but again got the error message. I turned my phone off, and tried again, and it finally let me download the app to my phone.

- I then signed out of my Canadian ID and changed my region back and it works fine, as long as my VPN is from Canada when I fire up the game.

I thankfully didn’t delete it but I’m sure this will make those who did, very happy. Good stuff.

Proton VPN is free and worked great for me (I didn’t delete the app but used the vpn to play thru the snap)

This but for New Zealand is how many of us started playing Pokemon Pocket a month early.

2 most annoying things:

  1. Your payment methods get wiped and need to be reentered when you’re back in US
  2. You have to repeat this sign in process every time there’s an app update

I used a vpn as well but deleted it once the game came back. Is there a way to verify I’m back in the US?

If you’re able to login successfully without using a VPN I think you’re good. However, as it is still not in the app store, I am under the impression you’ll need to run a VPN to do any updates, but I could be wrong.
