UCLA wifi and logins

does the wifi only barely work for you guys too or just me? The myucla page times out any time I try to log in. on my phone once I log in to ‘UCLA_wifi’ internet searches break and a google search for “kjfskhfk” is “a security risk” where even selecting go to page anyways just leads to a dead page. It’s really annoying because there’s quite a lot of things to do this first week and being literally incapable of doing them because there’s no internet kinda makes me wanna drop out or kms lol. I’m autistic and technology(shit I can’t fix on my end but I’m expected to use anyway) frustrates me into breakdowns and I kept most of my work physical throughout high school to avoid this but there’s not really anything I can do in college. I sent an IT ticket but nothing happened and in general staff seems pretty unhelpful here so I’m not sure what to do, any UCLA reddit people experiencing this and know anything about how to get the fucking internet to work or am I just being targeted for watching porn on school wifi lol

EDIT: also when I try to download the vpn from the library handout but it says there is no file. Again, is this happening to anyone else or am I just really unfortunate?

I’ve had horrible Wi-Fi the past hour or so

same here- eduroam seems less consistent/strong this year

use eduraom! the other wifi’s never worked for me.

me too! it’s been down for me the entire day and i can’t get any work done

Class of 2003 here;

Wifi’s never been good on campus. Even when i went to ackerman recently to buy stuff for a fellow alum’s birthday, the wifi kept dropping me.

:weary_face:

when I try to create an eduroam account UCLA just does not show up as a school to register with for some reason :,)

have you looked through this website? https://it.ucla.edu/support-training/tutorials/connecting-campus-wireless-network

it might help

you shouldn’t need to register an account, when you try to connect to eduroam it should ask you for a username and password. your username is your full ucla.edu email (so [username]@ucla.edu) and your password is your password to your account. one thing you can try is to make sure the primary email on myUCLA is your ucla.edu email and not your personal email (like a gmail).

after you connect, it will ask you to accept their certificate. once you click accept it should let you join

For some reason eduroam takes a few minutes for me to start getti by Wi-Fi

oooh ok :0 this actually helps a lot thank you very much! only problem now being that I cannot access myucla lol
