Trouble with Proton not working on a Chromebook

Not sure if this is exactly the right place, but I couldn’t think of anywhere else to ask. I made an account just to ask for help. I’m a high school student who uses my own personal Chromebook for school. However I use my school account along with my school’s wifi that firewall blocks websites I need to complete my work, i.e finance websites for consumer economics. Because of this I need a ip so I can actually do my work.

With my school account blocking the play store and the chrome webstore, I’m unable to install proton through the normal means. Using the Linux vm and the Debian steps for installing I was able to get the app installed. However the issue is when I boot the app and log in with an account, I get an error stating there is an issue and something went wrong. The app then hangs at the loading app screen.

I’m not sure what to do but I appreciate any help!
