Trouble switching over from NordVPN to Windscribe. Anyone else have this problem?

So I’m running Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS. I’ve downloaded the Windscribe GUI and everything runs except for when I get to the login screen. I’ll hit login and I’ll be met with a red no internet connectivity message underneath the password box.

Is there something I need to delete or cancel with nordvpn before I can login in this account? I feel like my old vpn is blocking the new one from connect because my system might be configured to only allow nord.

I’d take a guess that their “killswitch” feature is enabled still.

So I turned that off in the terminal and can see that it’s off. Do you think that just by having nord on my computer it’s blocking other vpns from connecting to the internet?

I would say possibly. But there could also be a configuration issue with your system. Do you know if the net-tools dependency is installed on your system? And from the splash screen clicking the terminal icon in the bottom right corner and going into custom configuration mode shows your IP address? Also can you reach the internet currently in a web browser?

I figured it out, the terminal said to run a command to fix something and I didn’t put sudo before apt. Rookie mistake. Thank you for your time. Also Windscribe is fucking awesome, it blows nord out of the water. My internet is Japan fast now where as nord was snail speed.

Thank you for existing!

I’m glad to hear that you fixed it. I’m also happy to hear that Windscribe is out performing Nord.
