This is super annoying

I live in the States, but when I am on travel overseas I can’t watch F1 content that I am still paying for. I’ve used these devices to stream content before from home and I’ve tried my VPN. No dice. Super frustrating.

Using VPNs carries a risk of your F1TV account being suspended. Please take this into consideration.

Check my post here. I’m getting this without VPN… I can watch in my office, but my home network is blocked…

Just started under a week ago

Many modern home routers let you set up a VPN server. I have a GLI one and with it I run a home WireGuard server. Then I set my iPad to VPN to my home , turn off location sharing for the F1 app, and it works fantastic everywhere in the world. Streaming through my home network. As far as F1 is concerned I never left my house.

If you live in a country where F1TV is then the easiest thing to do is use something like Tailscale to setup your own VPN and use a device at home as the exit node.

I run a Raspberry Pi with Tailscale installed and connect to that and set that as my exit node whenever I want to appear like I’m using the internet from home.

Brazilian here living in Italy. To use f1 tv I’m using nord vpn on apple tv or iphone, connecting to Brazilian or Swiss server, no issues found.

I just watched the race in UK using proton vpn

Get a better VPN. A credible VPN service will take care to keep their IPs away from block lists.

The message doesn’t say this but if it’s showing while you’re using a VPN, it’s because they detect you’re using one.

Express VPN is a good one

Nord VPN. No issues, I use it all the time.
You need to also play the game in terms of sequences so it doesn’t know you’re using a vpn. E.g. don’t login somewhere else, then turn the vpn on. Always turn vpn on first before going anywhere near f1tv. If using the mobile app, clear all data and make sure app is closed and not running in background. Turn on VPN, and then boot up the app.
Also don’t accept cookies or any data sharing, because it’s possible to figure out where you are in this data.

If you’re posting about any issue, whether it’s playback, subscription, or account, just remember we need more information to help you.

First, please search the sub for answers to common questions and workarounds.

If all else fails, we recommend contacting official F1 TV support either on their website or via Twitter.

If you still need help, please include as much of the following as possible:

  • Actual Country/Region
  • If a VPN is used, what region
  • Subscription type (Access, Pro)
  • Subscription purchase method (Website, App Store, Play Store, Channel Store)
  • What device(s)/app(s) you’re using/have tried

I don’t understand how F1TV decides this in the slightest. My sub is from the Netherlands, but I’ve happily been watching all the replays from Baku (not the live streams though, for, uh, obvious reasons). I’ve never been told I can’t log in at all, including in the US.

I am in a valid location, not using VPN and I’m blocked for some technical reason. I can watch through my cellular data, I can watch in my office, but my home network is blocked…

I am from Bolivia so everything is annoying

This started happening to me after Spa but I switched to NordVPN connecting through the US and now it works. If you want a referral link for discount just DM me.

I changed from my Malwarebytes VPN to Surfshark and I haven’t had this since (apart from when I forget to connect the vpn….)

I also had this issue recently on holiday. In the end I just torrented a rip and put onto my Plex server… as usual restrictions like this force people to pirate to access the content they legally paid for

Some more detail:

  • based in USA
  • I have run into this issue while on travel to Romania, Germany, and Norway.
  • I have AdBlock VPN and I’ve tried with and without, always using a US location.
  • F1TV Pro
  • Tried on my iPhone (app) and my Surface Pro with Chrome and Edge

I love their totally professional “oops!”

proxy through one of the locations that work over @ aws via ec2 instances. 30cents a race :man_shrugging:
