Synology VPN on Widows 11 Not Connecting

I have a VPN setup using L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key,

I have just updated one of my machines to use Windows 11 and unfortunately, the VPN will no longer connect. It hangs and then gives up,

I have checked the registry and the fix detailed here: https://kb.synology.com/en-global/DSM/tutorial/How_do_I_connect_to_Synology_VPN_Server_via_Windows_PC is still in place, but I guess no longer working?

Has anyone had the same issue and know a fix? Google is not giving up any good answers, unfortunately.

I tested mine and connected without any issues.
Try using OpenVPN and see if the problem persists.

I will give this a go, did you use L2TP in your test or openvpn yourself?

I used both. On two different machines running windows 11

awesome, I am going to remove and reinsert the vpn details and try again, wondering if the upgrade goofed something.
