So I just installed windscribe on my firestick and connected to server. Now do I just click the home button on the remote and stream? Any way of knowing I’m still connect to the vpn?
I always check www.whoer.net to see if i am connected.
Don’t know if you can do something like this with a firestick though, since i don’t have a firestick.
We can’t actually explicitly put a “Connected” indicator that you always see on the Firestick.
If it was possible, then we would add one but we can only do so much on that platform.
When you connect, you will get a notification letting you know of the fact and you’ll also see the Windscribe screen turn blue.
Once this happens, you can go about using the Firestick as usual. If the VPN disconnects, you WILL get a notification letting you know this, regardless of what you’re doing.
Yea I don’t think i could. I was hoping there would be a indication on the screen somewhere.
Ok good to know. Jut want to make sure that’s how it worked. Also is there any kill switch if the vpn drops out or disconnects to stop anything streaming?
Installed and all working as far as connected to a windscribe server but if I then goto whatsmyip etc it still shows my genuine I.P how can this be?
The Android platform (which is what the Firestick uses) doesn’t allow us to implement a simple kill switch that just turns off the internet immediately after the VPN connection drops.
We are looking at some other solutions to see if this is possible with what we can do on Android but it would still take some time to develop.
If anything, we’ll announce it and you will probably notice it in the app itself.
What generation of Firestick do you have?
Ok sounds good. Program is great and nice to know your still making improvements!!
It’s a gen 2
It connects via the windscribe app all looks as it should but if I then load up a browser and check my I.P it shows my genuine I.P
