Hi! I’ve never used a VPN before and don’t know much about it so I wanted to double check I’m not doing something wrong in settings before I cancel my subscription.
My issues with Nord is that when I go to play things on Netflix for example, the loading is veeery long (and yes, I deleted cache data and all that) and sometimes even interrupts mid way, some titles even appear without an image on the main page (just the series title), so clearly glitchy. It’s not the wifi, as soon as VPN is off, videos play normally. It’s also been not that great in blocking pop up ads…is there some settings that I should sort out to try and fix these issues or should I just get a cheaper vpn if I’m getting the same issues regardless of which I buy?
There could be a few different factors affecting your speed, so it’s tough to say exactly what’s causing the issue without more details. You can try switching servers, changing VPN protocols, or setting up NordVPN DNS servers in the app. But the best option would be to reach out to their support team since they’ll gather the info needed to find the cause and help with a fix.
Do some speed tests and ping tests. Just google it. Compare off VPN to on.
Switching protocols worked for me. I use the NordLynx protocol

I’m experiencing the exact same issue. To be honest, for those suggesting the usual “try different servers,” that’s not good enough. People choose NordVPN because it stands out in the market with its numerous server locations and excellent speeds. If they can’t deliver on that promise, then they’re no better than the average VPN provider.

Say it louder for the people in the back XD. I switched back to surfshark and it was a good decision. On my phone it works better than on laptop but I managed to get it set up on both anyway by clearing cache and using it directly as the search engine.
