Slow Just on Windows 10?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been using express vpn for the last few years and recently began having extremely slow speeds(25mbps mbps max on a 400mbps internet plan) on my laptop. I used to get 200+.

I recently moved to a new apartment with new equipment, so I thought that might be the issue, but my phone on the same wifi(mobile data off) gets 200mpbs on the exact same servers.

I tried running it wired to the router. I tried most of the servers in the US and a few outside the US. I tried all the protocols. I tried reinstalling the newest version. I chatted with support(while they were friendly, they couldn’t figure it out either).

So I’m perplexed. Without the vpn, my laptop gets a solid 400mpbs. Could it be a windows setting that cripples my speed? I’ve ran a network reset, but it didn’t help. Could it be my ISP although it works fine on my phone through the same wifi?

If anyone has any suggestions, I’ll be very grateful.

Did you try changing the protocol? You shouldn’t have to but it’s gone buggy on me once before.

Uhm… you can try connecting to the Smart Location if that’s a server location that works on your use-case, or you can use the speed test feature on the ExpressVPN app to check the fastest VPN server.

Yeah, I’ve tried all of them. While some were a little bit faster(like 5mbps faster), none of them were nearly as fast as my phone. I’m going to try resetting my pc.
