Shouldn't Black Friday deal be up today?

Based on the announcement, https://old.reddit.com/r/ProtonVPN/comments/1gjaz4y/protons_biggestever_black_friday_sale_is_here/ where it’s stated “From now until December 3”, shouldn’t the deal end up today, including this day?

As far as I know and from what I saw online, the word “until” is a bit ambiguous, but generally includes a day it mentions, otherwise would be “before December 3”?

/u/Proton_Team can you please confirm? Is it somehow possible to buy it with a deal today still? Unfortunately, I couldn’t buy it before and was looking forward to switching a provider and buying Proton yearly plan.

I guess I’m used to “until date X” meaning the same as you - until 11:59pm on date X …

Unfortunately only for new customers, not us that have been around from the beginning

Yeah, I signed for nord vpn then, lost a client!

There are two ways to interpret it. It would be clearer if they said it ends 1159pm on Dec 2.

“Available until Dec 3” would literally mean “if date >= dec 3, then it’s not available”.

Until the 3rd, does not include the third. It would say ends on the 3rd.

Hi! The Black Friday promotion ended on December 3rd.

You can still subscribe to any of our annual or 2-year plans and enjoy the benefits of our long-term discounts. To do that, log in to your account at proton.me, go to “Settings”, select “All settings”, navigate to the “Dashboard” and select the desired plan.

Past promotions ended at the end of the day. Proton Pass was handled this way when it was first introduced, made available for 1 CHF/Euro/USD per month. (I hope I remember this correctly.)

Your interpretation is unusual. Much more common is the entire day to be included.

It’s still December 3rd.

As Suprvllan said, it’s still Dec 3rd, so the offer should be still available?

As another user said, it’s still December 3rd in much of the world, including in Switzerland. Saying something lasts until a given day is widely understood to include that day.

You used ambiguous language in a way that hurt customers instead of benefitting them. Either use the interpretation that is consumer-friendly or be specific by adding a date and time. Very disappointing.
