Route Browser Only Through VPN Connection?

I need to route a single browser (1 of the 3 installed on my PC) through a VPN connection with a kill switch. Unfortunately browser VPN extensions aren’t actually VPN connections (they are proxy connections) so they won’t work, nor do they have kill switches.

The only solution I’ve been able to think of so far is running a proxy on a router which routes data via a VPN connection setup on the router and then configuring that one browser to use that proxy. The issue with this idea is that no router seems to offer any such setup nor have I been able to find any remotely helpful guides on how to do that manually on the router.

Any and all suggestions on how to accomplish this or other approaches to consider are much appreciated.

Split tunnel on the vpn client, can split by app if you get a quality vpn. My Nord has the feature

What about a second NIC and a VM running your VPN/Killswitch through browser of choice bound to that secondary NIC?

Edit: Just checked Mullvad and it also supports split tunneling, so that seems the way to go.
