Does anyone know Rock Springs Village Apartment and Campus Crossing Briarcliff? Some friends and I are considering living there next semester, but we don’t have a car. How’s the transportation there? Is it convenient to commute back and forth to the main campus? Also, any general comments about safety, facilities, services, the neighborhood, etc?
I’m a grad student currently at Campus Crossings Briarcliff. Like you, I don’t have a car either since I’m only at Emory for another year and a half so one of the main reasons I chose this apartment is that it has a school shuttle that regularly pulls up and gets you to Woodruff Circle (there central hub area for buses). Judging from your username, I will hazard a guess that you’ll be majoring in med, nursing, or biology, this is convenient as one of the shuttle stops is right at the school of nursing.
Aside from this, the place itself is rather convenient since there’s a Krogers pretty much right next door from the apartment buildings. Moreover, all utilities (minus electricity and cable, but who uses cable nowadays?) are included as part of the rent, this includes decently fast Internet as well which is very convenient (although I’d recommend using a vpn ).
In terms of safety, the apartment is quite close to Emory in general so the general feel of the neighborhood is safe so far as I can tell.
As an aside, the atmosphere of the apartment is rather tense however. This is most likely due to covid and that it seems to mainly be a grad student housing facility. People don’t seem to be very friendly from my experience so far.
Maintenance is also super quick
In terms of convenience I would say that while it looks close to campus, it is NOT in walking distance. The walk is super uncomfortable, and the shorter route to campus doesn’t even have sidewalk
