Regretting my 2 year subscription

Just about everyday I lose internet connection because of this vpn. It will search for a server and never find one, and the only way to regain internet access is by force quitting in task manager.

It has never happened to me, have you contacted them via customer support?

Maybe flush your DNS? Perhaps reinstall your networking drives? You could also reinstall NordVPN. Contact NordVPN support about this

Chat with their customer support on their website, they are very helpful

I’ve used it for a year thru a mini-pc running a dedicated firewall and haven’t had any problems. All my devices go thru the vpn. My roommate also works full time in the day doing video calls and the like without a problem. All my TVs are streamed thru it too. I liked it so much, I added 3 years to my subscription. I’m almost sure it’s your configuration. I ran into issues at the beginning, which made me doubt it until I figured out how to best configure it for my needs.

Try taking nordlinx off and it should be fine

Having issues as well, worked fine for 2 years but had to uninstall because of bad connection and no internetconnection without nord (no killswitch)

I’ve used NordVPN for more than two years and never had a problem connecting to a server or had it “search for a server”.

I have the same issue with my mobile network. So I enable my VPN only when I connect to WiFi. The answer of support didn’t satisfied me. It suggested to use OpenVPN configuration without using NordVPN app.

Works fine for me, and for a long time. Seldom any issues. Running on multiple Windows machines, Android and iOS.

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling?

Same shit with me. It was all good this week until today. Can’t connect at all. On all my devices. Tried different things, flushed dns, changed dns, tried different protocols - nothing. It did connect me twice, but after I tried to change country - it stopped again and I can’t connect now at all.

I am having issues on my phone. Forces me to use reCaptcha every time i use google

I’m also regretting my subscription but for a different reason - the lack of port forwarding is killing it for me. It did not even cross my mind at that time that a VPN company might want to actively prevent you from sharing content, and I realized it when it was too late to refund. I didn’t do enough research prior to buying so it’s my fault. I still hate them for false advertisement of being “P2P-friendly”.

big regret here too . I get caught out using vpn from just trying to sign up!

I’ve had this issue before, maybe 2 weeks ago and I reinstalled NordVPN, downloaded the latest .exe from their website instead of just clicking repair on the OS.

My tuppence worth thrown in , because I sympathize with tr OP:

NordVPN Customer Service [CS] were not useful when I contacted them. Amazon Prime UK has been blocked for month, but works with another VPN I used on the same phone.

My connection with ios never works with NordVPN.

Their CS just says reinstall, try a different exit server, and so on.

For OpenVPN, you need to make sure that the device you use has enough encryption capabilities. Otherwise, you won’t get much speed. For example, before this setup, I used a Linksys wrt3200acm with OpenWRT. The most I could get from it was 60mbs, which was ok since my service was only 150mbs. When I moved to 1 gig, the router couldn’t go beyond 130mbs. I never used a R-Pi but you’d need to see if it can handle AES (advanced encryption standard). All newer Intel chips support AES-NI (new instruction), by the way. The faster the processor, the more encryption crunching it can do; the faster your VPN connection. With my setup, I get around 300mbs now. I’ve heard of people getting over 500mbs but they run their firewall on a dedicated i7 quad core 8-9th generation machine. That’s overkill for me. From what I’ve read, in most cases, people usually get 30% of their ISP speed with the right VPN hardware.

I use a Ubiquiti ER-12 router connected directly to my ISP’s fiber line (BYOD). From there, I have the mini-pc running IPFire, which is then connected to a Ubiquiti 8-port switch, which power (POE) a Ubiquiti Unifi AC-Pro AP. I also have another AP that meshes with the AC-Pro. I get 100% coverage for all my IoTs and computers. Does that help?

No problem. I use a Lenovo M900 (i5-6500t, 8g ram, 120g ssd), which is my OpenVPN client, firewall, and DHCP server. Again, everything goes thru it w/out a problem. At most, every once in a while, I need to edit the vpn config file to update the NordVPN server because a service (like NetFlix) may block it. I got the PC used on CraigsList, wiped it out, and installed the dedicated firewall.
