RAV Anitivirus randomly installed on my PC

Hello.

Yesterday I scanned my computer with ESET antivirus, everything was OK, but today some RAV Antivirus was installed on my PC. I’ve noticed it now (around 9pm in my country), but I know 100% that sometime around 3pm I didn’t have it on my PC yet. I uninstalled it and re-scanned my PC using ESET and no virus was found.

I have never heard of the antivirus, its design looked quite normal and modern and it was even all in my language (Czech). I don’t understand how that AV got into my PC, does anyone know what the cause might be? I didn’t download anything to my PC today. Should I also do something other than delete that AV and then scan whole PC with another AV?

Oh, God, thank you… Today I saw Rav vpn, security smth, web, etc. And didn’t get where it came from. Then I remembered that yesterday i downloaded noxplayer opened it but it didn’t worked well and my pc started to work bad so I deleted it. Then I remembered again that today when i opened my pc it started to update from itself for the first time hoped that everthing will be ok, when I wanted to see what is new at that time I saw that things of Rav. I thought that it can installed from update and didn’t care but hours later it started to worry me. Now im going to delete it, I think it came w noxplayer. (edit: English isn’t my native launguage so, sorry for mistakes if I have)

Nox yesterday installed, today RAV bloatware installed itself in the morning.

I was panicking and did a total scan. Later ralised it came with LDplayer. Those sneaky bastards

For me it came with 2 additional softwares from the same dev (a VPN and a safe browser extension). You may want to check for those as well (RAV VPN and Safer Web).
Possibly came with Bittorrent or the game I downloaded using that

Ironically taking the uninstall survey offers the option “I do not remember installing this software” :smiley:

I got mine after unpacking a torrent web file. Just had to uninstall the program

i download CheatEngine after i got a pop up from RAv is it a virus?

This rav software came about automatically in my laptop right after i uninstalled nox

Just use revo Uninstaller. It will remove anything you don’t want, then check your pc for leftover shit from the programs you uninstalled.

just had the same issue, came with cheatengine along with some “saferweb” thing as well. opted out of everything when i installed it and all, fucking grim stuff.

edit: uninstalled every single thing installed in the last 2 days, only installed it on the 25th and all that was there was the RAV thing, saferweb thing and got rid of cheatengine for good measure, first time ever downloading malware bit of a kick up the arse tbh

Poweriso for me, shame that it was the easiest to use iso program for me and I didn’t had that issue on previous times I installed it.

Do you guys have any issues after uninstalling those programs? (RAV, saferweb or whatever it’s called) I am for real shaking LOL

For me it installed itself after installing the Memuplay Android emulator. Fucking chinese assholes.

Yeah I tried installing a program a youtuber promoted and rav was installed and said I had a virus. It slowed down my pc and just wanted money from me.
