Quick Connect sending me to Japan from US (macOS)

Is anyone else having issues with Quick Connect sending them to servers that should not be the fastest? I am in Maryland and Quick Connect on macOS has sent me to servers in Japan for the last day or so. Not sure if ProtonVPN is trying to avoid Virginia servers (as discussed here - add me as a plus one for this feature request), but this is at best inconvenient. I have not been able to replicate this on any other type of device, only macOS.

Hi! We’ll add your vote for this feature as well. Could you try switching to a different protocol to see if that helps (https://protonvpn.com/support/how-to-change-vpn-protocols/)? If you have a different network available (Wi-Fi or cellular), try connecting to that one and let us know how it goes. Try clearing the app cache as well. To do this open the Proton VPN app and go to the macOS menu bar → Help → Clear Application Data. Contact us through the “Report an issue” feature in the app menu if the issue persists.

I’m experiencing quick connect issues sending me to Chicago, Illinois….Before it was connecting randomly to Romania and Texas. I live in NJ and NY are the fastest for me, this randomly started a few iOS updates ago. iOS does not play well with VPNs, which is odd because on my iPad doesn’t always do that, it will usually connect me to NY. I have an android device and laptop running Windows, I never have an issue and will always get connected to NY. I know Proton knows about this because I’ve contacted them a few times already. iOS ( or any apple device) usually works well with IKEv2 and Wireguard TCP. Don’t enable the kill switch either because you won’t get any texts. I know you said macOS but it’s the same on iPhones and iPads. Since I’ve been using Wireguard I’ve been able to keep Net Shield on blocking malware, ads, trackers.
