I have been briefly using PureVPN for browsing and have came to realise that their standard package does not include P2P which I believe is required for torrenting.
Whilst connected to the VPN, Utorrent is unable to start the download, however once I disconnect to the server the downloading begins.
Is my chain of thought correct, do I need to have a VPN that supports P2P for torrenting?
Yes and it is recommend to get a VPN with port forwarding.
AirVPN is a VPN provider many torrenting people recommend. However, I have never used them.
You have to pick a P2P server to get P2P with PureVPN, and it does have P2P servers with the standard plan:

have you figured this out? I tried PureVPN P2P server and different protocols, but none is working.

yes. I had several VPN softwares installed. I ended up uninstall all the unused one and pureVPN, and reinstall the pureVPN, then it works.

after I uninstall and reinstall, all protocol work now. I can also use US server.
