For the last few weeks, if I click on the icon either in the main menu or on the taskbar, nothing happens. I’ve tried re-installing and deleting absolutely everything via terminal. I’ve followed both the Ubuntu instructions and the Debian instructions, but all it seems to do is install the icons or something because the app itself will not start. i’m completely at a loss as to whats gone wrong. it was working a month ago and i simply haven’t used it since on my laptop (it works fine on my android).
Linux app is not the best one. You can just add the servers from network settings one by one. It works much more better.
Clean installed Linux Mint latest last week and installing ProtonVPN with their instructions seems to be working fine.
Mine stopped working about a week ago after an update before that it was fine.
I contacted support who just said LinuxMint is not supported.
Somehow the app doesn’t work well on Linux Mint. It works on Debian and Ubuntu. I tried Ubuntu and Debian, and it’s totally smooth.
I reinstalled, used the debian package, terminal step, flatpack … It doesn’t work.
Also, the tray icon is very troublesome.
I use Linux Mint and very often when I try connecting to a server it just won’t let me and tells me “server timeout” and a couple of seconds later it automatically reconnects, same thing. Connecting to a different server usually doesn’t solve it even if I switch countries, I just have to wait until it decides to work.
Support said Linux Mint is not supported, no helpful advice.
mine has been acting weird
i have it so it opens when i boot up, it will say “ProtonVPN has stopped responding” but its working behind it
i close the box and its just going as normal
- Try launching it from the commandline and looking for errors: protonvpn-app
- If nothing then wipe the keyring, I had a bug one time.
tar cfvz backupkeys.tgz ~/.local/share/keyrings
rm -rf ~/.local/share/keyrings
Same thing here, on LMDE 6. Just noticed it today. Must have started with the most recent update.
