Problems installing AoV Garena (Taiwan) on PC

Edit: [SOLVED! SOLUTION IN THREAD BELOW]

Hi everyone, I have been trying to install AoV Garena (Taiwan server) on Nox. I live in Japan and the Japanese version works just fine, but some of my friends play on the Taiwan server, so I want to play with them on PC… then I don’t have to worry about my phone’s battery/heat/lag issues.

I tried installing several different APKs, but kept getting the “Install Error: Please uninstall the application and redownload the game from google play.” error message after the first Arena of Valor title screen.

I tried installing the separate APK/OBB files, but I get the same error.

I tried APKPure’s XAPK, also to no avail.

I tried downloading APKPure’s app to download and install it through there, but their app just freezes in Nox.

I tried VPNing using several different apps to trick Nox and also my PC that it is in Taiwan / Hong Kong, but my Google Play account still displays Japanese apps only. I could change my country, but I won’t be able to change it back to Japan again until after a year!

I tried downloading the newest version of Nox, as well as Bluestacks, but the same error appears.

I read somewhere that the error might be because we have to set the default installation destination to the phone’s internal memory (and not the SD Card), but I am not sure where the setting for Nox is for that (does it even have that?).

Hope someone here has a constructive solution or possibly some new direction that I could explore.

Thank you very much in advance for everyone’s time! Cheers ^^

TLDR 10-STEP SOLUTION:

  1. Create a new Google Play Account.

  2. Install a free VPN app. I used Windscribe since VPN-Melon crashes & Turbo-VPN servers were full.

  3. Connect to your target country in the VPN app.

  4. Open a web browser in Nox and check Nox is now in the new country with “whatismyip”.

  5. Go into Android settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear Data.

  6. Open Google Play Store and select the new account.

  7. Check that apps are for your target country (language and/or currency of paid apps).

  8. Download and enjoy!

  9. Once downloaded, your regular Google Play Account can still use that app.

  10. Beware of buying Google Play cards as their currency may not work with foreign apps! Google Play credits are non-refundable and non-transferable!

Much appreciated for the reply and suggestion KungYii! I actually already tried to create new Google accounts and use multiple VPN apps. None of them worked.

But because of your message, and a good night’s rest to clear my head, I made yet another Google account and realized that I previously forgot to do 1 step: clearing the data for the Google Play Store to “reset” the location. Then from there, I just needed to download a free VPN again (in this case, I used Windscribe, despite its slow speed) to get a Hong Kong IP. All VPN apps I tried, Taiwan was all full at the time. But since Hong Kong AoV players connect to the Taiwan server, it’s the same app I want anyway. Thanks again!
